Actually, if there is onenotable positive out of GWB's debacle invasion of Iraq, it's that he confirmed that his father was right NOT to take over and topple Saddam. As mad as he was, Saddam held the top on that can of worms. There is a reason why the military fights on the front lines and civilians make the political decisions. When you are too close to the issue, the appropriate strategic decisions are too tough to make.

And if I do recall, gas was $1.85/gal when Bush took over in 2000. It peaked at over $4/gal and only began to fall when there was tough talk about drawing down our troops and the global economy declined. During that time, both the lawyers and the EPA were effectively neutered. Not sure how the argument you make holds water.

Steve, it really is a good time in our country for everyone to look past all these issues and focus on fixing real problems. There are alot of people on in this forum who oppose socialising anything, but would like to see their health insurance premium drop drastically while maintaining same or better health care. This can be dealt with if Dems and Reps work together. But if either or both sides insist on taking pot shots at each other, then nothing will get accompished.

And if politicians aren't getting something accomplished, then we have no use for them, no matter what party they are from.

Iraq the removal of a Mass murderer and his sons was the only option!

Look I agree the wheels fell of the cart in 06 when the house changed hands and the stock market went down and the price of Oil went up.

Bush and the world price of OIL are unrelated we need to drill our own,the Left needs to get out of the way on this:The health of our very society depends on Energy. But while still in office he could have EO the drilling I guess.

Steve,
Guys like Chris, Craig, Ted and I read everything. We have to. That's what we do; it's how we ensure this is a fun, friendly place for all of our members and that it doesn't become an incendiary free-for-all for your political propaganda. Kindly refrain from this onslaught of perpetually inflammatory posting and badgering of our membership, otherwise we'll have to once again take consequential actions. We know how you feel, no need to pollute the entire forum with this drivel on a daily basis. Please maintain some civility in your debates, and absolutely refrain from getting personal with one another. Let's remember that this is a boating forum first and foremost.

You may enjoy these sites for the former:

This thread could run for a long time with a conversation totally not related to the title.

Nick, thanks for providing three sites I definitely will not visit. It's much easier to simply get out of my seat and bang my head into the nearest wall.

Good morning everyone.
