What's Happening
To All APBA Offshore Members,

We are excited to announce that the New Orleans Powerboat Grand Prix, taking place June 27–29, 2025, will serve as Round 2 of 3 in the APBA Offshore World Championship as well as Round 2 of 5 in the APBA Offshore National Championship Series.

This event also launches the inaugural Monster Energy Triple Crown, a new format designed to elevate offshore racing to the next level. With one of the largest prize purses of the season, it sets the tone for strong competition and increased visibility.

“We’re proud to bring a race of this caliber to New Orleans,” said Thomas Covington of Powerboat P1. “From national and world championship points on the line, to the Kilo and Fun Run, to live national TV coverage and behind-the-scenes content, this will be more than just a race - it’s a full celebration of the sport.”

Key Reminders:

  • Teams must compete in at least 75% of the season’s races to be eligible for the APBA National Championship, which determines who earns the right to display #1.
  • To qualify for APBA World Championship points and Hall of Champions consideration, a class must feature a minimum of three (3) distinct boats throughout the season.
  • A minimum of five (5) boats must be entered in a class for that class to qualify for prize money.
We look forward to welcoming race teams, sponsors, and fans to New Orleans for what promises to be a high-impact, world-class offshore racing experience.
