I read that first post with thought and calculated real fast...with only 534000$in overhead and 187 workers that´s even on the brink of bankcruptcy alltogether right there.
I mean we calculate generally that every worker makes around 200K$ a year minimum for the company, all the businesses I´ve been involved or worked for have done it over here like that, take off all the expenses and from 187 workers there sure is more overhead as thats less than 2%.
Overhere the the healthy level for a business is around 10-15% before owners start to think of shutting down alltogether.
So guess the Taxes are really big overthere as we speak in general.
And I thought I´m taxed to death.
A corporation pays 5% more in taxes (on profit) than the highest level an individual could be taxed at. USA corporation pay the second highest corporate tax on Earth.....and yet they are the ones Obama is looking at to pay for all these programs for people that DON'T work (or don't want to).
As the 3rd generation owner of a small business people just don't understand what Obama's small business policies are doing to small businesses, I have 130 employees and some of them don't either. My father made good money for many years and pays taxes at roughly double the rate of most of our employees, I'm just getting to a point I should expect a decent salary but the money isn't there. Hell, we have several employees making more than I do. My father is still active in day to day operations but drew his last paycheck Aug of 2008 trying to make sure the company survives!! Obama's "taxing the rich" targets people like him. How many people making $30K a year give someone a job......how many people making $200K a year, own companies and give lots of people jobs (he was one of them). As our taxes are increased the only solution is to reduce expenses. I can't just sell some of our mulit-million dollar equipment in this economy, the owners have already eliminated their paychecks, so the number of employees is the only thing left to reduce expenses to cover the addl taxes.......and although some of my people deserve raises......no telling when that will ever happen.
I assume you work for someone that you perceive makes alot of money and doesn't do anything for others....look at what that person has on the line and try to really see things from that perspective. I can tell you my employees are welcome at mine or my fathers house anytime. A number of them have been on mine or my fathers boats at various times and a few have spent the weekend with him at his river house. These people are the best asset we have so letting someone go sucks....just something that must be done for survival of the group.
BTW: My companies total sales have been in the $17,000,000 range the last couple years, they have dropped to roughly $13,000,000 the last couple and even in good years we never made 10% (and we're twice the industry average!!!). The last 2 have been significant losses. Bush had his issues, but Obama's small business policies are going to turn this country upside down.
