Chicks, Chips & Boats

Ouch! I shouldn't complain then.

When did you guys leave Kellys? Our idle back wasn't too bad. Scott didn't need Tony and I at all - he got into the hoist on the first shot. The huge cruiser coming into the dock did need us however... The guy driving couldn't dock to save his life in the wind and his wife was yelling at him the whole time.

We left just before 6, boats on the trailer by 6:15, dropped the boats off at Brian's and left there at 7PM. We got home at 9PM.

Glad to hear your ride was ok. The water was something yesterday.

Hi. I'm ok. The boat ride was great! I was whoo hooing cuz I WAS having fun!!! Tracys reply was cabin....well, it wasn't an option...I just didn't have a deep enough base tan. I wasn't in the sun anymore once I realized I was burning....its my shoulders. I cant move them.....

I'm really sorry to hear that. :( Hopefully you're better in a few days. I was fortunate the little burn I got Friday is all tan and nice today.

E-mail your home address. I have your camera bag and Fund's SPF 50 that you need to share with him. :sifone:

btw- "holding on for dear life" was the choppy water. The captain drove great...I truely have no complaints. My burn is MY badge of stupidity.....Elizabeth looked worse when she came in and I have been hoping she wasn't in pain too....

Thanks. I may have left a bottle in the pouch behind the captains chair, I don't recall throwing it away.... You and Rob were great hosts, and I hope we can do it again! Thanks for everything!

I definitely have a set of racoon eyes but the red is fading pretty rapidly.

Mine is the top of my shoulders..Glad to here that your not bad. Your probably in the sun more after work/weekends than me, but I wont have to suffer another sunburn this season.....:)

It was nice meeting you. You have a great smile and pretty eyes. Tony's smile resembles yours. Have you heard that people resemble the people their with? (fund kinda looks like my moms side...:blush5:)

Thank you. I love compliments :)

It was great meeting you guys too. I wish I could have spent more time talking to you but to be honest, I wasn't sure which end was up - especially after coming back late and trying to play the catch up game.

I'm actually not in the sun much this year which I forgot. Normally I don't burn this late into the season because I've eased into it but I've been in the shop a lot with Tony fetching tools and such and I haven't been in the sun as much as usual. Although I think this weekend put all the blonde highlights in my hair that I've been missing!

Sounds like you all had fun. Did you get quite a few boats. Elizabeth we have a pretty good outdrive guy we use for Bravos. Mr Gadgets on OSO, if your friend needs his contact info we have it. He has saved us big money and is honest.

JJ i hope you don't peel everwhere, I hope you are feeling a bit better today. Ian got pretty burt standing on the beach at the hot hole all day. His burn is really odd, he put on a lot of #30, and I put a lot on his back, but he missed several spots. Since the man never goes barefoot or wears sandals, and is never without white socks, the tops of his feet are whiter than my azz. Because of the shells and other sharp objects on the beach he gave in and wore his beach sandals for the first time. Well he wound up with the WORST burns on the top parts of his feet that the sandals did not cover, he also has two big red patches his left and right side, and more red patches on the part of his legs behind his knees. He really looks VERY spotty. I did not get burnt, I was careful and spent a lot of time under the tent.

I must say it was a fabulous weekend, I kept saying, we are really too old to party this hard. Sorry to bore you but here's a quick rundown.

Friday night put in at Erie Metro Park, docked at Rocky & Colleen Smiths house, jumped in their 66 Classic Chevy and participated in the Downriver Cruise and had dinner.
Then went to the Ford Yacht Club and closed that bar down. Had an early morning walk on Grosse Isle, then we hit the lake, the water was fabulous and we got to Monroe by 10AM. The hot hole's tricky to get to, so we followed another LEOPA boat in, we were able to beach the boat, good thing we brought our 6' ladder. The club had a cookout and Dave Powell set up his DJ equipment. We decided not to spend the night and followed a LEOPA boat to the Ottawa River, docked at the Riverview Boat Club, had a nice dinner at the River Cafe, then Rob showed up and bought each of us a drink, thanks Rob. Headed back to the RVBC watched the fireworks from the back of our boat while drinking a bottle of wine, then headed to the clubhouse for dancing to the live band and the BEST brandy Alexanders (tall and only 4 bucks/better than the Pump's!). Then the next morning enjoyed the $6.00 all you can eat Breakfast Buffet at the Ottawa River Boat Club. Followed Chris's Formula until we were in a safe area and had a VERY choppy ride back to Erie Metro park. We pulled in our driveway at 2PM very exhausted but grinning ear to ear because we had so much fun. I am blown away and amazed by all those small boat club in that area. LEOPA joined the association so we have reciprocal privileges, the drinks and food are so reasonable and most offer free dockage for the night, it really makes the weekend much more affordable. At Ford, I drank really large glasses of Kendal Jackson Cabernet for $4.00, at the RiverCafe they wanted $9.00 a glass for a lot less, the Brandy Alexanders at the club were $4.00 and Ian's vodka and Tonic were $1.80. I just love these clubs.

I did finally get a couple hours of sleep.. ya now how babies sleep with their butts up in the air? I had to put 3 pillows under my belly and kept my arms at my sides. Actually, it was fine for my back too. :leaving: (my c key is sticking....)

What is this a metaphor for?

These are nice little clubs. ORYC is the oldest YC in Toledo.... sorry we missed you. My family boat is at ORYC and the name was just redone on the transom..Gemstone. Next time for sure! Its a shame not go to see you when your this close. I'm glad Rob got to see you. He lives on that street....

The sun was a monster this weekend!! I hope Ian isn't in pain! I'm living on the aloe relief gel / lidocaine and a fan. Thank you Jesus, no hot flashes!

Sounds like a great weekend Donna.

We did see Dawn and it was great to catch up with her. She's still crazy as ever! :)
