Chicks, Chips & Boats

Thanks guys I will let them know.

OK tell me your opinion. I just was on OSO, hardly go there anymore. Anyway there was a thread about a 35 year old member that died, he was from CA and his board name was Insurance God. I did not know him, long story short he was on a small Zodiac at 1 in the morning with two buddies, it was said they were at bars and there were a lot of empty beer cans in the boat. They crashed, two are dead and one in the hospital, the Insurance guy may have been the driver but it's not 100% clear if he was. He was 35, he leaves a pregnant wife and a child and the other guy has a newborn. The thread was started as a notification on the passing of a good guy. Well this situation has made me so angry I can't stop thinking about it. So of course I had to make not one post but three to how I feel about what some say "is a stupid mistake" and "at least they did not hurt any innocent people" I say the hell they didn't what about their innocent wives and family left with this tragedy to deal with. Anyway hopefully I don't have to take to much grief for my feelings, you never know someone might read how people think and modify there behavior when out with the boys. The news article is in the OSO thread which is in their GD, I can't get in their bilge anymore. I really wish I did not read that thread, it put me in very bad mood.

One always thinks it will never happen to them. Then it does.

They deleted the thread, I had suggested the gal do it, I said if you really want to honor your friend I would take the thread down.

John I looked at the map and see what you mean, so I told them to do that, they were planning on using exit 64 which would take longer, I think they have an old map. My parents don't have a computer so I am surprised my sister did not look it up, but she has GPS and they are in my parents van. I bet they are having fun, 5 New York'ers and a dog stuck in a van for 675 miles:boxing_smiley: I best have the wine and vodka chilled for when they arrive

There are always innocent victims from these kinds of accidents. It's hard to throw stones here. I am sure many of us have done these kinds of stupid things in the past. I for one made a conscious decision when I received custody of my children to not take these kinds of chances. But I have been pretty damn lucky over the years. Good people make bad decisions pretty darn regularly.

I am also glad you posted this.

True, we all make stupid choices. But, I have never driven a boat of any size with passengers aboard while drunk.....

Ever.....

well family finally arrived, after making great time and taking the route Fund suggested of all things they screw up and think they are supposed to take 475 so they drive right by 275 and wind up got through Detroit, not sure why they did not look at their map. That delay caused them an extra of travel. It was pretty wild with Kirby and their dog Lucy. It took till midnight to get everyone settled in their beds. Everyone except my mom is out of the house for most of the day, so life is good:sifone: Everyone will be here for dinner and it will be like living in an episode of Seinfeld. Think of the Kastanzas, George's parents, this will give you a good picture of my folks:)

I can't believe how cold it is, only low 60's for today. Tracy I have friends
leaving for Harbor Springs, and I think today or tomorrow it might not even hit 60:ack2: I am assuming you will be up in Charleviox for the weekend.
So what's everyones else's plans???

Did they bring a Chocolate Bobka or a Cinnamon Bobka? :D

Morning. Hope your all doing well. My face has peeled....my nose is flamin' red. My clients are laughing cuz my forhead is only burned on the left side (my bangs fall to the R)...:biggrinjester:

I see you clarified passengers...............:biggrinjester::biggrinjester:

I can't swear to with no passengers. I don't think so ever, but I've been drinking with friends with my boat and ?????

My best estimation would be legally (.08) yes, functionally no....

When I was 19 I had a Yamaha Seca Turbo and had that about 120.

Something I wouldn't do today, btw. :)

Back in my wild days, had a modified Kawasaki 1100 with a 1300 big bore kit, kirker exhaust, Mikuni's, titanium frame, etc.

It would run just over 180.

You made us laugh with the Seinfeld image! Hope you have a good weekend Donna.

We're heading back up to the islands today. We're going to work on the boat and stay with Brian and Mandi (redone 36 Cig from last weeks PR) place tonight, then Skramers will be up in the morning and we'll put the boats in and head to Kelley's. We have a 65th BD party Friday and a 40th on Saturday and church on Sunday!:biggrinjester:
