Are you kidding me????? Don't be a ***!!!!:biggrinjester::sifone::biggrinjester::sifone::rofl:

You guys savor your 12 week summer. No need to hide from the sun you have been waiting so long for. Some of us have been boating for months.:biggrinjester:

Call me whatever name you want but cancer is no joke. :boxing_smiley:

You can kinda make out the straps that hold the bimini boot to the deck while stowed. It didn't move in smooth water and would barely make itself known while bouncing in the rough. It had 4 straps for the front, 2 at the corners and 2 diagonals plus two at the rear. I only had it up to maybe 40-45mph and thought nothing of it.

Between the blistering sun and short-lived summer showers, it was perfect. It's not going to win any awards while deployed but who cares.

I've worked outdoors quite a bit for almost 30 years and have NO interest in skin cancer. I like a moderate tan, but we spend a lot of 3-day weekends on the water, and I just flat get TOO hot, plus even 50 or 70 SPF doesn't always cut it.

This is the factory top (Taylor Made), but with new canvas to match the new paint. Stainless frame, it sits on top of the headrests when it's down. We had an all-white, tight-fiitting boot made for it, so it blends with the upholstery. It uses four straps to the windshield frame, and solid struts to the rear when up. We've run as fast as 50 with it, with no signs of impending doom. Others have modified theirs by adding solid struts in the front as well.

Besides protection from the sun, don't forget that it will make you the Most Popular Boat In The Marina on rainy days, especially if you carry the isenglass and Captain Morgan as well....

Top down and boot in place. Most people tell us that they don't even notice it when we're running.

I have one on my 382 just like C Spray's. A bunch of us local guys have installed them in the last couple years, including a buddy with a Cafe Racer (I'll try to get a pic). Mine is Stainless and has been up at 75 mph several times. A couple buddies put those aluminum ones from Overton's on a Velocity and a Sonic and cruise 50-55 all the time. I know the guy with the Velocity has seen 70 with his up too.
I'm with you....screw the way they look, I can't take the sun every weekend anymore! and you know what, everyone wants to hang out on your boat when they are anchored out to get out of the sun.

I would. Nck did you see the one on my Nortech? It was cool folded under the hatch. I am trying to come up something cool for my rib. You can do the mock up out of PVC and then have the tubes bent. BTW party Birthday Party (no gifts) my house July 11th!

Very cool guys. I feel better now; I'm not the only one. :)

Chuck, that looks great on the Formula. That's perfect and exactly what I'd like too. It covers pretty much the entire cockpit, and folds nicely on top of the hatch behind the rear bench out of the way. I like it.
