Nick, I had one made when I had the Baja. It was made out of 1" St.Steel and Sunbrella. I ran it at about 70 mph with no problems. It didn't look bad and it worked great !!! Loan Ranger and I ran his Sonic a few weeks ago down to Gators, on the way back up we decided to run the ICW up through the narrows. As you know, all no wake. No hat, no lotion.....my bald head and forehead got COOKED !!! Dave

Sounds like the same weekend I got cooked.

Did you get yours locally? Who made it?

Mine was done as a favor but Quality T Tops out of Tarpon can handle it. My office is just down the street. Don't settle for anything less than 1" St. St. I do believe the Baja was faster with the top up !!! More lift ??? Miklos and I used to laugh about it. DAve

Nothing to laugh at. I believe it. I've done some experiments with and without a top on a recent project, and I concur with the results.

lots of people have them up here......the nights can cool right off, this one fully encloses.....when it does its way ugly but it really works.....I am about 20 yrs past giving a chit what anybody thinks.....

Like C Spray said , it's great on rainy days. Also great for overnite , I can even cool the cockpit. Hot sunny days are cooler in the shade.
Mine is factory Formula with new cloth. Had it up to 45/50 mph and thats enough. Normally don't run with it up. Barely noticable folded back on the rear headrest like Chucks:)

here you go

I am in the same boat regarding too much sun over the years. Heck, they didn't even have sunscreen when I was a kid tooling around all weekend in my little boat. All we could do was put zinc oxide on the nose and lips. I'm over it! And I don't plan on putting one on my AT.

I've talked to Steve/Cignificant about his top pictured above. He complained about all the wind turbelence while underway.

On the other hand, I really like the looks of a t-top on some of these fast CC's. :leaving:

i have one on my 280 and yes at speed it is a little noisey. Most of the time if i have it up i stay under 50mph, but it is real nice when stopped like at a sandbar. I do like the sunshades also but the center pole can get in the way. iIcan drop my top and pull it back up in a second so i do not have to take the time to put it away and get it back out when we stop.

The guy who made the one on Cignificant's Cafe has made several for the guys here in VA; AT, Baja, Cigarette, Formula, BT, and others. They are guaranteed good for 80mph. He makes them all out of SS, and the material is TIGHTLY stretched. All anchors are through bolted unless it's hard to get to them. The guys are pretty happy with them.

Doesnt matter how bad it looks or who makes fun of it. I would rather have people talking about the ugly bimini on a cig. than the ugly guy with half his face missing!
Have it made with solid front supports rather than straps cuts down most of flappng noise and is much stronger.

I'd conceal some misters in the dash pad and side rails, hooked to the fresh water tank with a HP pump...that would be the digs.

Bimini tops on HP boats are gay.
