...on the Cafe?

Seriously.

I know, I know, it's taboo on a perf. boat, but I can't take this getting fried stuff very much longer. The sun's blazing hot down here, and getting cooked every weekend of every year is going to catch up sooner or later.

What are you thoughts?

Who's got pics of well executed Bimini tops on go-fasts? Post 'em up.

Lastly, would you? Should I? Or should I just forget about it and get one of those anchor shade deals? Problem is, you can't run with them up.

I have the same problem here. We have a easy up shade. Only up when stopped.

I wouldn't mind having a bimini. Maybe it will be on next years list. I don't care what others think. If it makes me feel good it will be.

Problem is once it is on there isn't a good place to take down and stow it.

LS Jr tells me it's taboo...I had one fitted for the Sutphen but haven't used it yet.
If you want one for a performance boat you need to have it made out of stainless instead of aluminum. Summer is here & the sun it a killer in FL.

I have a stainless one with a white top if you're interested from my Cafe Racer.

That's kind of what I'm thinking. I get fried every time I go out, even with SPF 50, and it's been a brutal summer.

Erin's dead-set against it, but I think I will override. :26:

This is good. At least we'll gauge the general consensus.

Absolutely. Nothing less than stainless will do.

Yes, I'd be interested!!! Do you have pics? How did it sit when deployed? Where did it lay when stowed?

Many thanks.
:)

Like I said I understand. I have always had good luck with anchor shade but no I wouldn't run with it over say 40 but do you really think a bimini will stay togeather running? I promise I won't poke fun at you if you get one. I do remember a cat that was always being poked at over on oso about the bimini.

Thanks! :)

I've seen a few on some go-fast CC fishing rigs that hold up fine well into the 60's, and 70's, so I'd say ya they'll hang in there at speed.

And hey, I can always pull the pins and put it away for when I don't want to be laughed at.
;)

111 here today.
I imagine it's gonna be a necessity for me out here:(

But, that's pretty far down on my list of things I need for the boat right now...

That's what I plan on doing. I need it for the baby and it beats skin cancer! Anchor shade doesn't seem to cut it when any kind of seabreeze kicks in.

LS, if Cigdaze doesn't take the Bimini please let me know.

Supposed to be a balmy 87 here tomorrow, low/mid 80's and sunny this weekend. It took a while but summer is here... :)

i would . . . screw it, 100 is friggin hot!

Be sure to post pics if you do get one though . . . .i promise . . . . no one will laugh . . . . :D

Had a bimini on the Nordic, came with the boat from the factory and it was made well, common for AZ boats because of the sun. I liked it although it felt "not right".

Got the Anchor Shade for the PowerPlay and liked it, still have it but don't have the boat anymore  We did more hanging on the boat than running so it was fine for us.

Ya. I can see why. They're in the same boat, so to speak. When it's in the high 90's, sun beating down, 90% humidity, and a 1 knot wind, there's only so long you can hang.

Here is an easy solution for you.......come up to New England. Rain on 21 of the last 25 days. Temps in the 60's with heavy overcast on the days it didn't rain.

I used a bimini on my boats in Florida......only at rest, but then I bought and EZ up top.... and that was just as good.

Sounds like Lucky Strike has the right set up.
