Chicks, Chips & Boats

Morning gang.

Suppose to start snowing this afternoon, then the Lake Erie snow machine kicks in tonight into tomorrow. Predicting 6-12" for us. I fukin hate living here.

Flowers are blooming, grass is green and the temps are pretty much gonna be over 70 here on out!!!!! But we are under a tornado watch right now, and I don't think it is supose to get over 60 tomarrow. but other than that spring has reached Eastern North Carolina!!!!! :sifone:Boating98.gif

I used to do my own taxes but then came the year that my boss's accountant didn't file everything correctly and I was going to owe (in my mind) a LOT. I took them to an accountant that's a friend of Tony's family. He's been doing them ever since and it's more than worth it. I would think they'd be done soon. He's had them for a little while.

It's snowing/sleeting here too. Not happy. I had to go out this morning and cut my hyacinths (sp?) so they wouldn't die in the cold. I hope my tulips make it. They haven't blossomed yet so I'm hoping they'll be ok.

Btw - fund I finally made my gouda and bacon stuffed porkchops and they were really good.

I find that the money I pay the accountant is less than what I would miss without him.
I almost owed federal this year. Bastards. I am paying way too much in taxes. :(

If you're interested, it's really easy.

2 pork chops (bone on side or center cut) about 2 inches thick (slice down center if not already sliced)
2 oz gouda, shredded
4 strips of bacon cooked and crumbled
1/8 tsp pepper

Mix gouda, bacon and pepper.
Put in the middle of the pork chop
I put salt, McCormicks' pepper and garlic blend on it and grilled

(it's red pepper, black, a little white pepper and garlic).

That just made me really hungry:)

I'm hopin that by having left the plow on the plow truck, it'll be my insurance that most of it stays up by you guys.

Quit being such a nice guy! :sifone:

One would think because we already live in hell that it wouldn't snow anymore either, but that ain't happening.

I just went out for some errands and it is drippy out there, the snow is mush and I noticed that many of the shopping centers are not plowed, their plow service must have already quit for the summer. I hope my hyacinths will still bloom, only a few have beginnings of a bloom. My girlfriend told me that if my hydrangeas had buds and if it got snow on them they would not bloom, so yesterday I put buckets over them with a rock on top, so hopefully they are safe. 3 years ago we had snow around 4/15 and my daffodils were ready to bloom, not only did they not bloom that year, they have not bloomed since. We have lost more evergreens to this type of late snow, the snow is so heavy it just sticks and weights everything down. It sounds like a war zone out there now, I have large hail stones mixed with snow pelting my front porch, Kirby is ducking for cover

good thing I am not hungry reading about the pork chops, while I was out I stoped at this really nice greek family resturant and picked up a salad to go, it came with lemon rice soup and pita bread. There is something about the warm pita bread they give you at those type of restuarants they seem to be thicker and much better that ones they sell in the store. Do you guys have those Greek family style resturants around you, or is it just a MI thing.

It's funny, the hail is getting LOUDER and Kirby is now charging the door barking at it:biggrinjester:

On Long Island where I grew up, we had ton of Greek diners, that's the only place I have heard them called diners. When I was really young they used to look like silver bullets, I guess like a dinning car on the railroad. You could get anything from a bagel to a Lobster dinner. I spent many a late night/early morning in them during my single bar days:D

Not around here, but Milwaukee does. That's the thing I miss most about run'n the East coast (NYC & NJ). All the restaurants and diners with their authentic cuisines:drool5:

Milwaukee does have some good restaurants.

Used to have to go up there for business with Kohl's.
