Chicks, Chips & Boats

Not always easy just to pick and move....but I hope one day.

When dad retired from the Navy, we moved to Portland, Oregon, mom's home town because he promised her he would. He got a job in St Pete in 1971, and he swore he'd never live north of Clearwater again (dad was born and raised in WVA). They moved once since 1971, and it was ten blocks farther south!:)

I was born and raised in Portland. Moved here in 1987. Where were you at? My sister lives in Scappoose, I went to Lincoln High. Goin back for my nieces wedding in June...

I just called mom, she went to Jefferson High. Lincoln is across the Willamete. She said she went to the second grade at Deer Island, which is right next to Scapoose. :)

We lived in Gladstone, across the Clackamas from Oregon City on the Willamete.

Know both well. And Gladstone, used to go jump off the railroad bridge over the river by there. An Aunt lived in Oregon City.

Morning gang.

Suppose to start snowing this afternoon, then the Lake Erie snow machine kicks in tonight into tomorrow. Predicting 6-12" for us. I fukin hate living here.

Morning everyone, we had about 4 or more inched in the area, it was weird I have absolutely no snow on any of our bushes, but about a block away the snow is so heavy on all the branches of every tree and bush it looks almost surreal, usually is heavier at our house since we are on the water, the closer I got to the gym the heavier the snow is. The snow is so wet I don't think it will last long.

Yesterday I finally finished gathering all our tax stuff together, even put everything on a spread sheet, which I plan to keep now for each year. Every year I push it out and then have to scramble to get an appointment with my accountant. I had a lot of the stuff pulled out and on my desk for over two weeks, I kept saying I will do it tomorrow, it's been like they big cloud looming over my head. I can't tell you the relief I feel now that is all organized and ready to be delivered. Rob, the accountant likes me to come in and I sit there while he does the work, he says it's quicker in case he has questions, It's a pain he's now a 45 min. drive so this year I am telling him I am mailing it and we can schedule a phone appointment and we can just sit there on speaker phone. I have the same account since I was single, so it's been about 22 years now. Years past when I was on commission only and Ian did a lot of side contracting it got pretty complicated and would take about 6 hours, now it's not so bad, but each year he usually keeps us from paying much or even getting some back so I think it's worth the money. So who's finished and who does their own taxes?
