20' Cruisers, Inc. that we grew up on back in high school. My dad still has it sitting in a barn collecting dust. This company split off of Lyman back in the day when they were building wooden boats for the Great Lakes.

Reading down the list of topics this morning and this one got a "WTF?"

Pops had a 32 Owens when I was a kid...... but nothing since....

I was raised on them my dad hada couple of Century's w/ flat head 6's I had to scrape chalk paint varnish ect-ect-ect every spring of my child hood, but didn't really learn my lesson until I was in my 20's when I had a few wood cruser's. My last one about killed me 1967 36 ft Chris Craft Challenger sedan after I finally got rid of that one the lesson was learned THEY ARE JUST WAY TO MUCH WORK! But they sure are pretty and nothing sits as proud in he water as an old woodie.

Hey Cosmic, nice avatar!!!:sifone: An old freind of mine, Jack Schilling owns Schilling toy co. About 20 years ago we were hanging around drinking beers and I told him he should build some tin boats to ad to his tin toy line. He was interested but knew nothing about boats. I got together a stack of classic boat books and we spent a bunch of nights drinking beer and going over what we could make. Your tin boat was designed by yours truly!:sifone: My claim to fame!

Sorry for the hi-jack!

We had 5 or 6 different themes all on the same hull design. One of them, my favorite, looked like an original gold cup racer. I've got a box full of all the models somewhere in my basement.

Toys aren't just for kids!:sifone:

Cruisers Inc here as well Chris, my grandfather had a 16 when i was a kid. When i got older and started using the boat on my own i would go just about anywhere with it. Twenty two mile run from the cottage to Put-in-Bay in that little thing and i was like thirteen or so, tell ya one thing you develop a respect for Lake Erie real quick. No gps or radar back than but i was out there.

Dave,

Looks like Lost Peninsula or maybe Mienke's ...? Saw some really bad conditions develop out there REAL FAST and yes, it definately teaches you to respect the lake. I remember when you saw the burn-off torches on top of the Sun refinery east of Toledo, that meant you were almost home.
