The Positive SVL thread

As for the 30' rule, all of the SVL owners at the beginning of the year when they were working on the rules for their 2010 campaign agreed to it. It was just one of those things that did not get put in writing and caused some of these issues they are trying to correct for the upcoming season.

paul their is no need to explain !! like i,v said before ,,the owners know the rules,,their was never a need before the fountain ,,AND YES I KNOW THE RULES ,,

Guys
George is right.
This class has existed for 7 years with little drama. Once "Professor Fate" and his side kick "Maximilian Meen" showed up things got very murky.

There are some current serious racers who are looking into SVL as their next step from some of the GPS classes. I was explaining for them.

As for the other, get your rules in writing fixed now as to what the owners agreed to. That is all that is being asked. Then you won't have to deal with the "next" time.

Yes and no. In the LLC rulebook we established max speed parameters to let the racers know that if the boats started going faster than that then we would adjust the rules accordingly. We used to sit in unmarked boats in the spectator fleets with radar guns and it worked pretty well.

One of the things I was wondering on this. Was it a top speed concern or a lap average concern?

I know the SBI SVL rules have a 95 clause in them currently. Some of the boats are currently pushing that in ideal conditions in the straights. But, in Key West, the best lap average speeds were just over 80....

The speed in the rule book is top speed ...

It was purely a top speed issue for LLC.
