C'mon Wayne...
Please tell me it's Garmin by now.

No I'm still old school
The truck oriented gps units are for today's steering wheel holders who sadly there are a large number of them that not only don't own a road atlas, but couldn't read one if they did. And even though they are truck based gps, they still put these guys on restricted roads and into low viaducts.
The really sad thing....some of these drivers will run right under a clearly marked low viaduct because the gps said it was alright.

I do use Google maps on my phone for in route reference. The address data is almost flawless, real time traffic is based off gps data from other phones in the system there for dead on accurate, calculates travel and eta times based on real traffic, the alternate routing feature is second to none and I can check out the layout at new stops with satellite and street view.
Best feature......it's free.
A couple nights ago I used satellite view so I could follow my cursor to a driveway I needed to turn into in pea soup fog that I couldn't see 40' feet ahead of the truck.

Did I mention it's free :sifone:

Directions to my place are easy.
Take the 40 to the 17S, then follow the 10 to the 60E, N on the 88, and then a right turn into my "hood".
It's easy to find.
Just ask Fund;)
But, an 18 wheeler isn't gonna make it down my rd.

Never say never :sifone:

I hadn't thought about the low bridges/viaducts, etc.

And, truth be told, I have a National Rand McNally in the map holder on the back of the drivers seat in my truck.

Hi Ho's!!! Had a map book in my cars for years. I like it better than my GPS in the Cayenne. Was looking for a place with someone once and told them to get a cross street. He wanted to know why its on XYZ street. Book I can still find places faster or now I use Google maps.

My freaking dogs!!!!!!
Getting deliveries today from Jody's new job.
UPS brings a laptop, I need to sign. OK, dog's go nuts and run out the door to greet the UPS guy. The dogs are friendly, and the UPS guy is cool, and helps me herd them back in the house.
1/2 hr later, another delivery from some courier service. Not sure if I need to sign.
By the time I get to the door, the delivery guy is back in his truck. He just left the envelope by the door.
The dogs take off and start chasing the truck.
And then they are gone...
Phuck!!!!!!
I'm screaming for them, they are out of sight.
Phuck!!!!!
I figure I'll leave the front door open in case they wander back, and head down to my truck to go look for them.
Then I see the cat.
Phuck!!!!!! Can't leave the door open, cat might get out.
Close the door, and head back down to my truck.
I'm backing out of the garage and maneuvering around my weird driveway over the cliff to get turned around and head out to look for them.
Then Gaitz comes walking up, panting.
I get him in the truck, but no idea where Dyce is.
I'm pretty confident Dyce will be back around some where.
I'm yelling for her, and I hear her yip. Sounds like she's on the porch.
Pull the truck back in the garage, and "rubbed" the tongue of the boat trailer with the truck. Doesn't appear to be any damage.
Herd Gaitz back into the house, and hobble back upstairs.
Dyce is waiting at the front door for me to let her in.
Damn dogs.

My driveway runs along 20acres and is gated at the end. I keep it locked, dead end road and have people coming down my driveway to turn around if its unlocked. Fed-ex or UPS usually calls to be let in. So don't have to worry about dogs getting out. Also have a gate near my house that turns my yard into a fenced one acre parcel. Keep that closed because it keeps the dogs contained.

Going to try to play a little softball tonight....still cannot run....but I can catch and hit ! (and swill beer!)

As it turns out, when I hit the boat trailer I managed to push it into the back wall. Knocked a stud through into the hallway to the bedrooms.

It's been a chitty day.

PHUCK.

Holy crap.

Me too. Laptop crashed (dead). IT guys worked all day to get a loaner up and running with the stuff I need.
And three more things.

You and the Jodimeister can fix that stud and drywall, no problemo.

But wait, is there more room in the garage? :)

Invited my whole immediate family for Chinese Food. Had a craving and its only worth it with lots of people.

Mornin Ho's!:seeya:

What to do today???

I think I figgered out my camera....test
