New racing class - unlimited offshore

piston engines won't hold together for 80-100 miles.

Why not? They used to.

Hopefully this new class is a step in the right direction for the sport. ounds like it may be. I won't be competing, but I have been and always will be a fan. Good luck to all involved.

As a fan I think this is an awesome idea and commend all involved for getting it going.

UNLIMITED OFFSHORE RACING - RUN WHAT YOU BRUNG

You want spec class, go race spec class. Nothing against spec racers and I've tossed the idea around if Gino's idea works out to getting involved in racing my damn self, however I love to see the big boys as well. I can dream can't I!?!?

Marc- sorry about the negativity (objectivity is fine; negativity sucks). Some people will never be happy....

I like it. All manufactures can play.. I think a measure of human limitation will be found. It wont be the fastest that will win , it will be the best handling and or flying. These boats are capable of racing at speeds beyond reason.

Thats Unlimited, Best wishes to everyone involved.

I like the idea!

At least there will be a focus on improving the safety in the boats that has been severely lacking. That should trickle down to the lower classes, hopefully.

Does the thrust have to come from propellers in the water? Pod racers are coming to mind.

Thanks Jimbo, Glad to see you back up on your keyboard :) More often than not it isn't the fastest that wins but the smartest, most prepared and most paitent. Seasoned racers that have learned the "art of winning".

Pat, ANY Drive configuration you can and or do make is legal in this class..... including your tranny's. As for varied hull configs, propulsion...as long as it dosn't put the other racer's in danger ..bring it on. The safety items we have been developing are already trickling down. More to come
