Looking for a 39 Cig

Mine is a full stagger. I believe that all 39's are staggered; that's the difference between a 39 and a 38. It's just the 850's and 1075's that can't be fully staggered due to size.

That's right.

39 = Staggered
38 = Side by side

The 850/#6 option is MUCH more expensive than the 700/NXT option new, and only a few mph faster. That blue one is a smokin deal, and I would take it over a 700 boat at that price. 850 & 1075's with their tranny's are too big for a full stagger.

So more questions on the 850 boat that I posted. It says it has 110 hours are the motors ready for a top end/complete rebuild or at what time would all that need to be done.

Yes I think 1075's are to much. that boat is awesome but for the price I could have the one with 850's painted and new interior and a brand new international to pull it. I do like the idea of 700's they look much simpler and easier to work on probably better balanced because of the full stagger and less weight but I have not yet seen the price on a 700/nxt boat. I guess I just need to start calling some dealers and find out what they cost.

I understood the first regular maintenance on the 850's to be at 150 hours, but have heard of them running much longer (250ish ??). That 850 boat appears to be a good deal; all depends on the condition.

Alright I have finally decided to start actively asking people about boats for sale I feel that prices this winter and next spring are going to be real good so I am going to buy a boat but probably not until March or April unless the deal is just to great to pass up. I will say this will be my first boat of this caliber and I will be taking tres's class and learning how to operate it properly.

So anyway I am looking for the best deal out there I would like opinions on the different motors and options in these boats. It will mainly if not always be used for day trips and I do have a wife so some type of toilet is required.

I really want red or silver or black paint or any combination of. But for the right price anything can be painted. If it was a good deal I could always paint it.

We can do a complete repaint on a 39 for around 30-40K..
Here is an example of some of our Designs with Your Colors...

Please, please, please. Don't buy the first one TommyGun posted about if you're gonna paint it.

It was done classically for a reason. Plus, the bilge is reverse-painted. It would be major expensive to do it right.

Whew, I feel better now.

Nice work Grafix- the middle one is NICE!

I wouldn't re-paint; buy one you already like- I wouldn't think the price to make it right would be the real difference in purchase price. Upholstery , gauges, paint, etc add up real quick.

db71- how many hours do you put on a boat a year?

If it were me (I wish!):

0-50 hours 1075's- go all season without refreshes and don't get out much so have the baddest boat you can when you do get out. I base the don't get out much on in MD I run about 100/hr a year but then again takes me twice as long to get any place than my buddies do since I only run around 50MPH cruise.

More than that 700's would be my pick

Ok, so bad news is short boating season. Good news is long buying season. You are in a great position. Having recently settled on an "out of season" deal myself... the hunt will be fun.

I think that Chris makes a good point on power, and that extra 15 mph once in a while versus the true cost. I am going through a repower and am going to go a little milder for the same reason that he mentions.

oh god, please dont do that...

db71 is talking about repainting the 850 boat...WE wouldn't let him touch ASG's.

And if he does repaint...Harold (Grafikworx) is the man.

The 39 Cigarette is a very nice boat. My friend has a 2006 39 with number 6's and 850's that he would sell. Great boat!!

The 850 looks like a deal but by the time I repiant it and add a trailer and potetially rebuild the motors before the season or get stuck doing it in the middle of the year it doesn't look as great. I like the silver red black one that legend has with 700's. Anyone know what a new one with 700's goes for. Does anyone have some cabin pictures that show different configurations.

Grafikworx those paint shcemes look good I like the middle on the best.

I have a lot of time between now and when I want to buy so keep the boats coming. I would even be open to a boat with no power and then have someone build me motors.

Anew one is going to run around $550k +/-.

db71,

don't assume anything until you talk to me. The boat has a Myco trailer and the motors are in great shape. Paint, no more than 30k for a nice paint job and if things are slow, maybe better. The boat runs 111 to 112 mph with 2 people and half a tank of gas. call me.

db71,
call me before you do anything. The blue boat has a Myco trailer. The motors are in very good shape and have had all fhe maintenance done. The boat runs very well 111 to 112mph, 2 people with half a tank of gas. To paint the boat, no more than 30k.
