It's been a while but have a new story!!

That cat is going to LOVE who ever adopts her. She will know that she is loved and she has you to thank for it.

Good job, Gino. She's already a miracle. We just saved a stray on our back porch over the weekend. Another great cat, but we couldn't keep him. Found him a great home, though...

What a story. My stepfather is a vet and would take care of her in a heartbeat. It is a shame I am so far away. I hope everything goes well.

Gina is doing well. tomorrow is 5 weeks she is in the vet. It's getting close to where she will be able to go to a good home very soon. Gina is going to need a little extra attention but I assure you she is worth it. Gina is still not able to pee on her own but there is a good chance that will be changing as she is getting more feeling back all the time. Her tummy needs to be presses to help her empty her bladder. One good point is she won't pee all over the house. I received over 250 emails and PM on her condition. Several people inquired about adopting her. I would keep her but I'm deathly allergic. I have invested thousands of dollars in her and she is worth every dollar. Now we need someone special to love her. The people at the vet adore her! They said they never had a kitten in there that purred so much or as loud. When Renea goes to visit her everyday, Gina jumps up and sticks her nose through the cage when she hears her voice. She pushes her head against your had so you pet her. She is an absolute love! I have never been a cat person, I'm a dog lover but Gina is a miracle kitten that has made me look at cats differently.
My wife said she will deliver her to who ever adopts her. Please let me know if you have any interest.

Gino, it is so wonderful what you have done. If I was home more to assist her in her needs, I would adopt her in a heartbeat. I have a cat that I saved a few years ago and he is the most loyal adoring pet I have ever had!

thats a wonderful story Gino.

I found my cat when I was 11 years old it had been born in our bunkhouse at the cottage and its mother had died likely while giving birth (we found the dead mom and the two kittens were still huddled next to her body). We found the cats when they were very young and nearly dead from starvation. We were able to nurse them back to health and ended up giving one of them away to a girl who worked for us. The female, which noone wanted, I loved so much my parents let me keep it.

fast forward about 8 years I came home one night and heard a horrible screeching coming from my backyard. I went out to see what it was and my little cat was the one making the noise. She was trying to move but she could only drag her back legs which didnt work. She had been hit by a car. We took the cat to the vette and he gave her told us that he could do emergency surgery and she MIGHT live. My father spent 5 thousand dollars on surgery and vet bills. The cat was tougher than we expected and came through okay.

Today she is 14 years old and although she still cannot get around like she used to and she doesnt like anyone touching her rear end (she is held together by pins, screws and plates and stuff). Funny thing is that ever since she was hit and we had her fixed back up she changed completely. She went from being 'aloof' to being the most affectionate and home loving cat I (and most people who come over) have ever encountered. It is almost like she knows that she was done for and that we cared enough about her to save her.

I am not a sappy guy but your story here definately hits home.

Funny thing about my cat is that when we first found her I didnt know if she was a boy or girl. She was so tough I named her ARNOLD, after my favourite action hero (I was 11 years old).

Now, with the whole metal skeleton and all, she truly is THE TERMINATOR!

I hope your little friend goes to a good home and enjoys many good years. I can tell you from experience, cats like this are truly remarkable animals and they do not forget the human kindness that was given to them.

Cheers,

Adam.

Once again, thanks for the update Gino.

We currently have 6 cats that were all strays and my wife takes them all in. We have found homes for many more strays and still support some of them which have gone to good homes with limited means. If you have someone down in your area who is in a similar situation, but would provide a good home, we would be happy to help cover the on-going expenses. Let us know, Paul and Terri

Wow...that's pretty cool Paul

im happy to hear shes recovering! our dog was just in the emergency vet for 3 weeks and luckily shes recovering. whoever takes this cat is gunna be one lucky person!

Great day all around! The vet called us today at 4:45 to let us know Gina was able to pee on her own twice today. Our waiting has paid off. She will now be 100% normal. The surgey went grat and she is walking around without any issues.

Today I spent over an hour on the phone with the people from www.puffypawskittyhaven.com . What incredible people they are. They have over 150 cats and they never destroy an animal unles they are in severe pain and it's the only option. They take cats from all over, they have a lot of cats that are abused, abandoned, strays and hurt. They don't turn any away! They have another smaller attchment to the building for cats with Lukemia and Feline aids and other medical issues that need special attention (like Gina), those cats are not up for adoptions, they end up being their pets. I am very greatful to Moving to Miami for the referal!!
These people are completely non-profit. this is their passion. They are supported by donantions. I know quite a few of you offered to donate money for Ginas surgery. If you guys could send a donation to these people that do so much good, It would be much appreciated. I am going to help them on an on going basis.
They offered to take take Gina immediatly, even with her unrination problem. They actually have another cat with the same problem. Now that Gina is able to urinate on her own that will really make her adoptable.
Another few days in the vet to recover and Gina will be on her way. I'm very greatful how this turned out. If I would have taken another option that someone suggested, I would have regretted it for the rest of my life, wondering if I had made the right idea.

Gino, You've been unable to find a home?

People, this cat needs to stay in our boating community, what have we got?

Gino, myself being a crazy animal lover...you are the man. awesome thing ya did from beginning to end. kudos

Seriously....I'd take her in a heartbeat, but affraid our Basenji would get too rough with her. Just put down our last cat (stray) of 14 years:(
