It's been a while but have a new story!!

Wow. Great response, Gino. Gina reminds me a lot of our cats, so this one strikes close to home. I hope they are successful in repairing all the damage. If our cats weren't carriers of FIP (immune system disorder), we'd take her in a heartbeat.

I tend to think that you've been successful because of the good Karma that actions like this bring you.

Hi, They are checking today as they they showed a trace of that in her. They said they had to do more tests as her mother might have had The FIP and she show traces of it but shem may not actually have it.

I have 11 cats and #12 showed his face this morning. Mostly strays that I feed up at the lake. A few of them come inside but most just hang out in the hood.

Great Job G! Keep us posted!

Wow, you do have a heart.:)

We were up all night. We got some news about 8:00 that was completely unexpected. New problems with Gina. Here Bladder and the nerve to her bladder were very swollen from her trauma. They thought the swelling would go down and not be an issue. Because she hasn't been able to pee on her own they think the nerve may be permenetly damaged which means she will never be able to pee by herself which obviously would not be an option. This is extremely emotional as we thought everything would be fine, expensive but fine. Please cross you fingers for her!

Keeping our fingers crossed..........

I realize you like to be surrounded by puszy, as do we all... but isn't that taking it a little far?????

Just got a call from the vet. Not very good news! I need some help.
The cat is in worse shape then we hoped. They finally got her stabilized enough to completely check her. She needs a hip surgery which is $1500 and reconstruction of her pelvis for the bargain price of $3500 let alone the current bill for about $1500 plus the meter is running and we will probably see a final bill of about $8000. I took on this commitment and will follow through with it. However if anyone has a friend or a family member that is a vet can we see if we can get any kind of deal on the reconstructive surgery I would be indebted. I know I get friends in distress calls all the time. I could really use help with this one!!
In turn You and your vet friend can have the 2 back seats in the Mercedes boat for the Islamarada or St. Pete Poker run.

My fiance is a vet, but we're up here in CT. If we can be of any help, please let us know.. Scott

Gina is stable. Just waiting for her swelling to go down. She is very sweet, everyone in the vets office loves her! She looks better every day. 5 have faith she will get through this. Frank (10X) hooked me up with a lady that runs a DNA scan from a hair sample and helps with many problems vets can't do anything with. She is an amazing lady that has helped thousands of pets. Here is her site, very interesting stuff.Thank you for asking!!!!~

Hi, I haven't been posting because there really hasn't been any miracles. I have been receiving a bunch of emails and PM's regarding Ginas condition. Today is day 25 at the vet for Gina. She is doing pretty good. She is able to walk but holds her leg up a bit. We haven't done the final hip surgery, we've been waiting on her Bladder to get better. We will probably go ahead with the hip surgery on Friday. Last night one of the lady vets called and asked our permission to take Gina home for a few days. She has 2 days off and wanted to give Gina a break from the vet and introduce her to her 4 cats. Hopefully she will decide to keep her!!! Gina is not in any pain and is a wonderful cat. The vet says they have never had a cat purr as loud or as much as she does. The entire office loves her. Gina gets visitors everyday. She has quite a fan club! There are so many people pulling for her.
The only problem we have that can't be fixed by anyone but God is her bladder problem. We have heard it could take up to a couple of months to get feeling back in the nerve controlling the bladder. I'm willing to hang in there and do what ever we possibly can.
i appreciate all the letters and emails. I have heard so many inspiring - feel good stories since I adopted Gina. I have had so many people tell me i'm nuts for spending what we are on her but I look at all the foolish things we blow money on in boating. We are looking forward to the day Gina gets to go to her new home.
