Inauguration

saw something on tv last nite, you will be able to buy all kinds of obama stuff there, shirts, yo-yos, plates hats etc. and all made n China too.

This Obamamania is fliipin' ridiculous. The guy is a one term senator with a distinguished record of voting "present", happens to be 1/2 black and has been elected President....congratufvkinglations. Now DO something.

In St. Louis the black Alderman have gotten together and have already propsed renaming a major street...Barack Obama Boulevard...IMHO this is nothing short of being 100% racist.

In Toledo, I still refer to a certain bridge as the "Cherry St." bridge.
That's what it was when I was growing up, and then they went and changed the name.
It also meant you were half-way through the no-wake zone in downtown.:)

And don't forget all the streets and ships named for Ronnie Rayguns, a second-rate actor, terrible governor and a piss-poor president.

And now name one instance of any of that happening BEFORE HE WAS INAUGURATED?????

No in fact it occured after his Presidency, which has been widely recognized as one of the best, and as such worthy of recogintion.

Reagan was a great leader.
B-rock hasn't done anything yet.

Everything is made in China now, thanks to the Republicans' no-tariff policies the last thirty years.

Just once you should get a fact straight, just one.....

Fact****Jimmy Carter gave China most favored trading status, and signed it into law. When it was about to expire, Bill Clinton renewed it, and signed it into law. This gave China the right to export products into the USA with no tariffs and a maximum of 2% excise taxes. We will never be able to deal with it because they use the money we send them to cut our throats in the world energy market and do not allow many imports from us into their markets.

Fact****Bill Clinton pushed for NAFTA and signed it into law. This gave Mexico the right to export products into the USA with no tariffs or excise taxes. We probably could have dealt with it in the long run, because they buy many of our products and one of their exports is energy.

I agree and thats mostly the Dems

One of the funny things, the Dems complain about too much $ being wasted but $150million plus for the innog is okay. That same amount of $ would put around 3000 possible foreclosures in the black for years. Politicians, go figure.:boxing_smiley:

Bush's was about the same when you include the federal and local security costs. They conveniently leave out that fact when doing comparisons.

But I agree with you. To send a maverick message, Obama could cancel most of it, and just say after being sworn in "I have to go to the office and get to work now". That's probably impossible in today's world, but it would have been pretty cool to hear.
