Inauguration

And for the record, it doesn't mean a thing to me that Obama's black, he could be green for all I care. he is just an american who pursued his education and his dream. IMHO the fact that everyone is celibrating him being the first "black" president does nothing but set back equality. affimitive action, ethnic "pride" and what ever else you want to throw inthere, means absolutely nothing. we are all men created equal, the only thing that should distinguish us from one another it what we chose to do with ourselves, whether we choose to educate ourselves and whether we are willing to stand on our own two feet and better ourselves.

It doesn't bother me too much that they reference the first Black American President, because he is. It does bother me when they make a big deal about him being the first African American President. What anti-patriot dribble.

Race relations go backwards every time an accomplishment is labeled "1st Black/African-American/etc" is used IMHO.

Azzhole Al and Jackazz Jessie have made a fortune attacking people- race relations is big money so it will never go away. Love how they mumble-jumble to get someone to say the words "you people" and then use that as the opening for "what do you mean "you people? As in "you people as in Black/African American people" and off to the "races" they go so to speak

For the record, he has to take the oath over. The Constitution demands that it repeated word for word or you are not the Pres. Kind of funny in a weird way.
You'd think both of them had the last couple of months to study it and get it right... I don't know why but I'm a stickler for small details sometimes...

I was surprised that there wasn't a mention of it in the press...at least the stations I was watching...

You might want to run that one on Snopes. It's not true because of the 20th amendment to the Constitution. Actually, he didn't even need to take the oath yesterday in front of all of those people. By law, he became the POTUS at noon. ;):)

so the first time the words were flubbed, the second time he failed to swear on the bible, koran or whatever.. 2 strikes..

I prefer to look at things they do After the oath. Things like this.

O'Neill was appointed Secretary of the Treasury by George W. Bush....

"A report commissioned in 2002 by O'Neill, while he was Treasury Secretary, suggested the United States faced future federal budget deficits of more than US$ 500 billion. The report also suggested that sharp tax increases, massive spending cuts, or both would be unavoidable if the United States were to meet benefit promises to its future generations."

So who knew?
