I am on FB but I have never gone on it at work (spend too much time here). I might check it when I go home for maybe 10 mins top, unless some hot chick posted some pic's from the past weekend party, then i might do some FB stalking for a little. I am not one to update my status...I might write something worthy maybe 1-2 times per month, but that is about it. Yes, you get random friend requests, but you can ignore them or you can accept and delete later (ppl do that to not be rude...)

Now you can I think. You just need to set up and a/c with a alias (like Ratickle) and just let you family know what your alias is. Just make sure no one tags you on any pics otherwise the gig is up.

Actually I found a lot of long lost friends that we all felt sorry for not being in touch.
One was an buddy of mine since 25 yrs ago from New Richmond Ohio.

Well, there's no 'online now' light, so you don't have to worry about anyone knowing when you lurk. :03:
As far as friend requests, there's nothing that says you have to accept them, so if you are only friends with your family members, their posts are all that will show up in your stream.
I know it may be hard to believe, but there are quite a few boaters out there who don't hang on this site. If you aren't afraid to try something new, you might actually find that you enjoy seeing posts by some of the European P1 or Australian teams. Or seeing pictures posted by fans of some of the American teams such as AMF, Statement, Aqua-Mania, Crazy Chicken and others.
And then there's the whole 'social' aspect... you learn things about folks you might not otherwise know... like Tom A is headed to Costa Rica, Ned loves to play Top Gun and Dave P is fond of wine, steak and cigars,,, :26: :sifone:
It's like most everything in life- it's what you make it.

Just remember that facebook etc are pretty much guaranteed to be checked when companies are doing pre-employment screening.

Do it Jim. You will not believe the people you know now and knew in years past that are on there. My word of advice is to simply stay away from all the BS applications, causes, and drinks people send you. I ignore every single one of them and if a person is requesting to be my friend who I don't know personally......I ignore them too. It's a great forum to share your life with family and friends.

I recently have been verbally attacking people who do that farmville crap. Every time it shows up on my news feed, I comment about how much of a loser they are, how they should become a productive member of society, or how they need a life. For some reason, it just makes me day.
1. mow yard since 10+ inches of rain
2. yoga
3. obtain sea water pump and prop washer from you
3. purchase 15gal of the sauce
3. change sea water pump in the boat in hopes for a run in 70deg weather and 20% humidity tomorrow
