Facebook....WTF

I am embarrased to say I don't think I know how to maneuver FB. I have gone on it because LEOPA put up a site and Bob the Builder said that he put one up for his FL club, but I can't figure out how it works. All I see are random posts on one main thread, so I seem to be missing all the chit chat. However I don't really think I want to learn. I cut back my time on SOS, OSO, and the local lake forum yet I still feel like I waste to much time on line. I am amazed on how many friend requests for FB I get from people I hardly know or have seen in years. I guess I am just old fashioned, but I would rather be at the gym, riding my bike, taking a walk, playing with the dog, gardening, at the movies, at a bar, at the mall, or even organizing my underwear drawer:) instead of typing messages to a bunch of people I don't give a rats azz if I ever see. I really don't know how people have so much time to be on line. In regards to Twitter, I don't know how that works either, is that something you do from a phone:confused:

My wife goes on Face book I really don't have the time plus really not looking for and one.Nancy likes it love looking at all the pictures of her friends when they were younger and growing up in Brooklyn.I miss big hair.

Myspace is for kids.....facebook is fine. You'd be surprised how many people you'd recognize. It's good clean fun. Just do it, it hurts nothing. I can't tell you how many people from my forgotten days I've reconnected with; that alone has made it worth it.

I am on Facebook, and yes I have a farm. And Mafia Wars is fun. I really don't use it for comunicating with people all that much. I have conected with a few people I have wondered what and where they are. For me it's a place to play on line games. I like on line games.

I am too private. Believe it or not.
The only place that I share stuff is on Serious. I don't do MySpace or Facebook.

I have received texts. I have never texted back. I called.

I have never twittered or tweeted or whatever.

Damn, that's about the same way I feel about it.
Never even been to the site. Don't feel the need.
I don't have a lot of friends, but the ones I do have I actually care about.
I was once asked on a job interview if I would rather be liked, or respected, by my students (teaching at a Tech College). I'd rather be respected. I don't really give a phuck if you like me. Hence, I'm not into a popularity contest. I'm not gonna change.
As far as old friends, sure, there are a few people that I wonder what they are up to now, and pretty much anytime one of them has contacted me, I realize why we went out of touch years ago within the first few minutes.

I can understand it if you're young and single, but, and old married guy like me would feel like a lounge lizard in a leisure suit.
I was actually too young for leisure suits even when they were in style.

No wonder you have so few posts. Wasting all your time on Facebook....

I admit it, I use Facebook and really like it. I have all the filters on and share info with only approved friends. It is a great way to stay in touch with friends you may not normally talk to on a regular basis. It is also great for co-ordinating get togethers and events.

I wonder if anyone has done a study on the US workplace relating to loss of production in businesses due to internet distractions like Facebook and various forums?
