Facebook....WTF

I am afraid to get involved. I thought it was for kids. Now I hear some of my friends suggesting it......I don't think so....

I saw Ice T on Conan last night.. He is chasing friends away from his page.. He has a page or group what ever named the Final Level Gang...I think that is what he called it. Like on games the constant search for the next or highest level.. Well anyway he has this gang as he called it...He is constantly trying to knock peps off his page. He doesn't want the most friends.

Very Strange.....Most seek more friends or followers. He seeks fewer. Strange....

Tweets on TV....Facebook on Rachel Ray.....I need to get back to work...

Anybody else think like me on this subject?

The owner of the Lexus/Toyota store I work at made me start one for the social networking thing...but now all my sales people are raising virtual farms and fish tanks while customers are not getting waited on...it is driving me nuts....

I finally broke down and had donzigirl setup an account for me a few days ago. So far I see it to be your own personal live forum only without hobby specific boundaries. There isnt one person in my list of facebook friends whos not already on a boating forum. There are a hanfull of people whom I went to school with that I even remotely give a rats azz about and I dont need facebook to find them.

I think if you're single, and stuck in a remote research station, with no women and a filter on the computer so you can't watch porn, it is probably worhwhile, Otherwise, not so much......

I head you can advertise on their cheap.

I talked to the only two guys I'd give a damn over the phone night before last.

My very first girlfriend still look exactly like she did in 1971, until you pan down. :(

When I was single I did get laid a few times from myspace. I do have a facebook acount but I could give a F about it and I sure as hell don't have a farm and all that chit. My GF on the otherhand, is addicted.

I have two "addictions now: Boat racing and boat crack, you know this forum. I don't think I could survive another addiction. Thanks guys I will stay away.

I use it quite a bit being in university. It notifies you of parties, events and all that jazz. Best way to waste time in class, except for SOS!

I lurk more than post. Get on there and limit your friends. It drives me crazy when people post every move they make on there!

Thought the hole thing was a joke, then I used my wife's account to see who was on. Found most of my cousins and friends from Brazil to Korea were on it. I joined up, don't play the farm stuff, but cool to see my friends and cousins and there kids growing up all around the world.

I am too private. Believe it or not.
The only place that I share stuff is on Serious. I don't do MySpace or Facebook.

I have received texts. I have never texted back. I called.

I have never twittered or tweeted or whatever.

I figure if I need to talk to the person they have probably either called me or received a call from me during the 2am-4am time frame on any recent weekend night.

Social networking is for prepubescent boys and teenage girls....

Completely agree with you on this one! being in a program where it's mandatory to have a laptop makes those sites a necessity to survive some classes and talk with some friends a couple seats away

Board at work one day, guarding the phone, playing on the computer, started a boating group on facebook(Captain Bob's Boating Club) for a joke. Gives the guys with the big Sea Rays someware to post their pics. Pretty big group of people we boat with on Lake Charlevoix and Lake Michigan, worked out pretty good for the summer to post what direction we were going for the day. Kept the group together and saved on the phone calls.

Facebook was neat....for about two months after I signed up. We're getting ready to have our 30th HS reunion....so everyone has joined up. It's been neat to see what all of my old friends have been up to, but it's also been a reminder of why I don't hang out with alot of them anymore!!

Also, if a woman is halfway crazy, FB will put 'em over the edge. How could anyone think that ANYONE gives two chits about what phucking color they would be if they were a color?????:cuss::reddevil::sifone: Or the people who post what they're doing all day. Maybe I'm just a ***** or am getting old, but I just don't care if you're heading out to the grocery store!!!!

I mostly just use it now to see photos of my nieces and nephews. It makes it alot easier for my family peeps to just post them on there instead of emailing pictures!!

The bottom line is that I have all of my friends phone numbers. If I want (or need) to talk to them...it's easier to just call them!!!

:rant::rant::rant:

The above is a post that I recently made about facebook. I still feel the same way and if it wasn't for my upcoming reunion.....I wouldn't be on there. :)

On the other hand, I discovered that you can set it to hide all of the farmville, bejeweled blitz, mafia wars, etc.... from your account. That helps!
