Chicks, Chips & Boats

Good call. Don't need to see anymore towing mishaps in the news.
Did ya introduce it to stouty Wisconsin water yet?:sifone:

Drive a boat on the ocean when it gets rough, then anything Winnebago can put up is calm water, but anyway no not yet

lol....I was thinking more in the lines of the Copper toned waters of Winneseptic vs the crystal clear waters of the ocean:biggrinjester:

Hi, we had company last weekend and it seemed like it took forever to recover, and I finally finished all my planting, I put in about 20 flats, except for mulch my gardening work is just about finished.

Ian's still putting all the pieces and parts back, the only thing that we did that was sort of major is have one of the outdrives refreshed, and the other one checked out. Putting those back on the boat is a PITA, I wish we had an outdrive jack, instead Ian stacks blocks of wood on top of each other to rest the drive on, then he straddles the drive and lifts it up and I get in between his legs and try to shove the rod into the center and it has to go in with a bit of an angle. It seems like it takes for ever and the blocks keep shifting, then he has to pick it up and I have to straighten the blocks, I hate when it comes time to put them back on, but we did have success a few weeks back.

Brian, are you going on the run. Paul if you want to come to Monroe on the 13th you and Terri could join us, just get a hotel room in Monroe, or maybe you can stay at Brian's:biggrinjester: I told Phragle he can join us, and if anyone else wants to just let me know. It's fun run but usually fun, it's been so windy I hope we have good weather.

I took yesterday off to hang out with a buddy. It was a pretty good day all in all. I really needed a day just to relax, and that's how it went. I have been kind of burned out the last couple of weeks. I am feeling a little refreshed now. Maybe I can get refocused and sell some campers this week.

We had engine stands made out of wood on casters made for our drives Donna. The drives weigh a ton, but with these stands the drive slides off the boat and rests on two 2x4 on each side, the height matches the boat and it's on wheels to move around the shop. It costs nothing to do compared to what the drive stands cost, even though the drive stands are the bomb.

I'll try and take a picture so you can see the stands. Ian can make his own.

I just love it when a 1/2 hour project turns into 1.5 hours. :boxing_smiley:

We purchased a kill switch from Dana Marine. Rob drills in the hole then we go to put the bracket that came with the switch over the threaded rod. Nope, isn't gonna work, the holes aren't big enough. So Rob drills the holes out. Then the nuts go on and go figure, they're metric. Nice. After dropping a nut (and the bracket at one point) and searching to find it, it took 1.5 hours and that DOES NOT include the time to hook them to the ignition. That'll be later today.

All hardware is on the drives and they just need fluid, engine hatch is suppose to go on today and I think the plan is to fire the motors later today. I hope.

I'm in Baltimore Wed and Thu so I won't have access to a computer so it'll be Friday before I check on you all....unless I find a computer.:)

Barb that would be great, Ian can build just about anything, so I can't believe he has not made something for this yet.

last night Ian had to fix one of my mess's, barb, I think we have the same slide in duel fuel jen air range. We have the style where the exhaust fan is on the cooktop between the burners. I was frying onions Sunday night, one flipped into the fan intake compartment, so I lift the cover off to try to get it out, the cover was hot so I use a napkin to pick it up, well the napkin drops in the compartment. Of course I don't think much about it, just that when I finish cooking I will get it. Then I hear this rumbling sound that I think is coming outside the house, Ian said it's a plane, I say it sounds like something else, so I turn off the fan to hear better, then it stops, I put the fan back on and it starts again, then the ah ha moment hits, I tell Ian I think there is a napkin stuck in the oven fan, he's like WTF !!! now he has to crawl under the stove, he manages to get the napkin out but the flexible hose comes off and rips. So on Monday after work he goes to Home Depot gets the hose. He tells me this is not going to be easy, under the stove is the large fan and motor, gas line, regulator, huge plug and of course everything is on the back side so you can't get at it easy. The gas line is mounted so you can't pull the stove out, so everthing around it has to be disesmbelled. It took over an hour of him on his belly, scraping his hands and arms, trying to get the hose on and everything else disconnected and then re-connected, he was not happy. Sometimes I feel like am living an I love Lucy Episode:D also as I am tying this I realize that the metal screen that fits in the compartment, must keep the stuff from getting sucked in, I don't think the screen is in properly since the last time I cleaned the stove, I am going to look at it right now, if this happens again, Ian will have my Blond Head:biggrinjester:

I think you're right about the screen stopping things from being sucked in there like the napkin did. And you're right, it's a pain to fix anything on those the way they have them hooked underneath. I hope ours never breaks. :ack2:

yes Wrink is deformed or perhaps it comes from to much red dye :ack2:

LOL to funny, I think I read somewhere in the forum rules that you get an automatic time out for altering a quote:biggrinjester:

If you ever have driven with me you would know just how much! The reason they put pedals in a truck is so you depress them fully every time you use them, right?:biggrinjester:

I absolutely agree 100%! I am a fast driver. And I'm ashamed to say I have past this trait onto my children.
