The Day SVL Died

I guess nothing. The class what ever it is now has to wait, and see if P1 is going to come out of hiding, and follow thru with all the promises made at the beginning of the year. That is where the class basically got split this year starting at Cumberland, and caused the rest of the schedule to start to fall apart . I will blame P1 now cause I am guessing SVL will get blamed if it does not happen. I was pretty pro P1 until I talked to Asif at the Gold Cup, as did George (The Money Guy). We both agreed that we didn't have a warm and fuzzy feeling for the future of SVL and P1. I hope P1 proves me wrong, but anytime I, or George made logical suggestion to help the class nothing happened. All I see is that SVL was a P1 political pawn, and it has simply split the class. Mix in a couple other issues some our fault, some not.

So its time for P1 to come out of hiding, and prove me wrong.

Mark is right ,,a few of us sat with him ( asif) for about an hour,,what i left with was ,,he said quote;; I have no use for your class (svl) ,,it,s a good class ,,but NOT MY VISION ,,,I see 20 or 25 ,,22 ft boats with 150 hp and a couple of 20somethings extreme racers in them ,,racing ,,and you guys being owners !! end quote,, he said it was Martins vision (svl) but HIS MONEY (asif) ,,,I thank Martin for what he gave the class this year,,but I don,t see ,nor have heard of what the future holds for the svl class in p-1..now on the other hand Randy has said that Martin and p-1 are working very hard on the future ,,who,s future ?? and where he heard it ?? :USA:

Ok guys Randy and I have been banging our heads against the wall on how to make the Key West race. We have found some sponorship dollars to help us get there but we are still a bit shy. It was our original intention to just go to Key West watch the race and enjoy the party. However this has turned into such a spectacle that we have decided it needs to be settled once and for all. With that being said it just makes alot more sense to settle this little spat in a controlled environment on the course. (after all races are often won and lost in the turns versus running a straight line where the winner could be decided in the first mile or two)If you know of anyone who may be willing to participate with some sponsorship dollars pm me for more details.

Whattup Augie?! Hope all is well with you and yours!

Hey Mike, all is well Thanks. Kids are in college doing great, business $ucks and the heart is still beating. Hope all is well on your end and THANK YOU for everything you do for OPA and The Jersey Boyz.

Colby,

This again shows that Randy is a true competitor!

I will be pulling for you guys and I will call Schleussberg later on to see how I can help.

Go Typhoon, now let's see who shows.

Smokey I am not agreeing or disagreeing, however its the world we live in, and if we are going to settle this that is how it needs to be done.

If enuf of us donate a small amount it will add up .
I'll do $ 50.00 not much but thats what I got .

It will be a fun race to watch .

( by the way my opinion is still the white boat will take the win )

Md,

This is what is all about in any race, we all pull for our favorite teams!!

Great gesture BTW.

Yea good point MD time is running short. It will likely take Trophy about three to four days to get the boat there if he has to tow by himself.Even If i can go with him its still gonna take two to three days im sure. Outside of that we need to know soon if this is gonna happen so that we can start making preparations.

How are you ever going to get a date with a desireable chick if you sit there needing a shower wearing a ripped beer and mustard stained old t-shirt and have bad breath???

The reason you guys got attention earlier this year was because it looked like you had your chit together and were going places. You have several people who have said they want to race SVL, but since SVL has no clue as to just what the hell SVL is, they sit waiting and will in all likelyhood get board and fed up with waiting and race something else. If you want P1 or anything else to support you, give them something to support. If they back out, you would at least have your act together enough to possibly attract the attention and support from somebody else. If you sit on the couch drinking beer and belching surrounded by chheseburger wrappers and spilled popcorn, the hot chick down the street is NOT going to come knock on your door to ask you out to the big dance.

(This comment is null and void if your sole intention is to have an MTV reality show called SVL Rehab)

Seeing as I have been one of the instigators and big mouths on this thread,I will put up $500.00 and take care or your accomadations while your there.Do you have a paypal account i can send it to.If you want to post it it will make it easier for people or sponsors to get the money to you before you get there. This will make for a very exciting race and a whole lot of trash talking.
By the way,I dont know if Steve confirmed that he is going to be there. Also is there any other SVLs that are planning to attend

Colby ,,you know i like you like a son ,,but if your going to go their ,with expectations of out running that EXTREME ,,bring some real tall wheels ,,i,v been testing with them lately ,,,we,ll lets just say ,,i need a whole lot more,, (even in the flat) ,,I wish everyone luck ,,and be carefull ,,,

George thanks for the kind words, i am not going to kw with any expectations outside of some good racing and the oppurtunity to settle the dispute win loose or draw. I will be there in the capacity of a true sportsman with my hat in my hand to whom ever wins the race. (like always) I have never had the oppurtunity to race against Steve and am by no means under esimating him!!

Ok looks like we have some participants so this is my recommendation of how to handle this. I have spoken with Doug Grimaldi and he has graciously agreed to handle the funds through his pay pal account. I chose Doug because he has stepped up to the plate and made some very generous donations and is a third party. His pay pal account is arushracing@yahoo.com. The account accepts all cards with the exception of amex. In the event we do not raise enough money or for some unforeseen reason Typhoon can not attend the race we will return the funds promptly.

Thanks for everyones support you guys are the best. Keep it coming!!
