The real story here is for the voters, and hopefully, the voter's outrage will somehow trickle down to the greedy party leaders. Palin was a joke, but after Dubya, it was easy for the party regulars to rally around cute one-liners and get 'em all fired up. Forget for now that McCain was stupid enough to say she was the foremost energy expert in the country. Every time she spoke about energy and drilling, there was loud laughter emanating from boardrooms across the country.
The real story is that Republicans shouldn't go down that road again. I agree with the poster that inferred that the last election may (hopefully) have eliminated religion as a big issue.
Both sides continue to miss the point, and reality. Biden has been a complete baboon as VP, and I used to like the guy. Palin was parading around as a Superstar, while R's were knocking Obama for actually being a Rockstar. The irony shouldn't be missed.
The supreme irony is that as she matured and became more politically savvy, Hillary was probably the best choice. Oh well, better luck next time.
A third party would be nice.
