Michael Phelps Bong Picture Hit The Internet

maybe the watch and bong will start selling more or be sold out! i know a guy that bought the same bong just because its the choice of the best olympian of all time!

Lastly, take a look at the horrific violence going on in Mexico right now. The ongoing drug war is crippling their country and littering their northern areas with bodies daily- I believe their daily death count is in the mid-teens right now. All because of U.S. demand for their product- marijuana. And guess whos problem it will become when Mexico finally can't deal with it?

Actually, studies have shown that crimes, mob activity and gang warfare rise dramatically whenever prohibition type laws in place, then decline after. Mexico has their problems because of the demand and money to be made. if it were legal, if you could walk into 7/11 and buy some and pay tax on it, what market would the gang members be fighting for.

This is common sense. we are creating the black market, then spending money fighting it. It is ANTI-Capitalism. If people want the substances and they are not a drag on society, let them have their cake and tax it.

No crime fighting expenses, legal system expenses, penal system expenses but we get TAX REVENUE! Shoot, think of the added profits for legitimate businesses selling it.
and we all know, if every politician was required to do a group smoke-up frequently with other politicians, we'd actually see them get good things done for us. And they might even vote in a National Munchie Day".

The only downside, Paulie Shore would start making movies again.

As for the government legalizing drugs. they make tax money off of cigs and alcohol. there would have to be a whole new branch of government to control the use and manufacturing of drugs. they cant agree on how to help the economy, how would they decide what percentage is too much for cocaine on the street and what it has to be cut with? As the ATF monitors the bad things about alcohol, the fda monitors the ingredients and levels and what must be made/done to make it fit for consumption. by the time they got done with it, it would be highly diluted and overtaxed.

I would assume that most senators know a heck of a lot more about coke than economics. ;)

not disagreeing, but then who would be in charge of production?advertising? setting up standards for use quality of ingredients? look at what lawyers have done to the government for the harmful chemicals in tobacco products. same for going after bars for a drunk going out an killing somoene. I'm not disagreeing with you, but how can it be run as a legitimate business with no regulations? I'm sure the gubmnet would love to collect tax off it. but would they really want to be known as the country that produces the best coke or weed? we already have the fattest kids.

If it'll bring international tourists who will pay taxes on what they consume. . . yes. In fact, would LOVE to see Florida significantly drop their property taxes and raise the sales tax. Let our tourists and non-home owners share in the tax burden. This is so logical, it baffles me any politician is against it.

The moron who owned the bong tried to sell it on flea-bay for 100k..

Now he's confused as to how he got busted..... :) :)

Like a drug buyer calling the cops because the dealer stiffed him.

Saw the video recently of a 'white lootie' that called the cops on his wife. he's standing fron tof the trailer smoking a joint when the cop arrives. Can't understand why he is being arrested when he was the person who called.

I was a distant friend of a guy in high school who was the biggest pothead you ever met, his motto was wake and bake till the its time to go to bed and do it all over again.

He led our high school swimming team to State champions. He used to drive the coach insane because the coach knew he was always getting baked before the meets and would threaten to throw him off the team .He would then quit and the coach knew they were nothing without him and back he would take them.

Booze, tobacco, marijuana, coke....what's the difference? They're all bad, they're all addictive, they all have the capability of killing you. Yet, the government deems booze and smokes okay, but the latter two not. It seems stupid and arbitrary. It should be up to individuals to moderate their lives. Imagine the revenue and jobs we can create by legalizing and regulating (and taxing) some of these now-forbidden recreational drugs - not to mention completely eliminating drug cartels. There's some stimulus for ya!

As far as Phelps smoking some dope?...so what.

Not as bad idea after all...
