You can tell the boating season has come to a close

its all good, Jay is finally able to put the gold bond away so his nuts dont stick together from all that ball sticking hot summer heat down there! their fall and winter is like our spring and summer. also, why do you think we all flock dow there now and run away later!...

either way you slice it you'll want to stay in doors for a few months if you live in either place full time! ;)

I screwed up my homepage, and I saw the other day it was the same temp in Deland, Illinois, as it was in Deland, Florida. :)

Yeah, you know it's Fall when Old School is walking around with a beer and a fishing pole instead of just a beer :D :D

Am I the first to point out that Jay, once again, cut&pasted his data on the thread.:rofl:

Actually, here are some shots from yesterday afternoon before the Coast Guard boarded us for a safety inspection.

I highly recommend the following:

Skeet shooting in October wearing shorts

Getting boarded by the CG with enough guns and ammo to over power them. They were very appreciative when we declared the weapons before the boarded. Apparently, you must have the original registration on board, not a copy. But no citation written.

BTW, peak temp yesterday seemed in the mid 80s.

Will probably store the boat for winter in late February preparing for the March thaw.

I hope you weren't using lead shot, that's against a federal law. Steel or Bismuth.

You know, I actually did not know that and did not check. Will look at the remaining boxes and keep that in mind for next time.

Does anyone else here find that the Jimmy Buffett classics are so good, they haven't spent much time listening to the newer music? I could spend my entire day listening to all albums he made prior to maybe 1987.

Totally agree- they never get old. Can't count how many hours I've spent listening to his stuff over the years- so many classic tunes...

I remember reading an article a couple years ago about the top money-making artists in the country and he was like number 10 on the list and hadn't had a top ten hit in 15 years. The good chit endures, the dude abides.

Will never forget meeting him and the Coral Reefers at the Great Southeast Music Hall in Atlanta (1975) on the A1A tour.

The A1A tour? I think I was still crapping diapers back then. :)

Now yer makin me feel OLD. :cuss:

Back in those days I was airbrushing a lot of custom tshirts. I freakin loved that album so much that I did a shirt for Jimmy and gave it to him between sets at the show- just walked up to the dressing room and banged on the door. Didn't realize just how short he was until I was standing beside him.

name dropper!!!!:biggrinjester:

been to several Buffett concerts. Would've enjoyed the ones he did near harbors where you could raft up and chill.

Yeah, some of those youtube vids of the harbor shows are very cool- looks like about as much fun as you could have on a boat. :)

He's come a long, long way from those days in the early 70's. The Southeast Music Hall only held about 200 people and no seat was farther than 40 or 50 ft from the stage. One of the coolest clubs I've ever been in.

:26:

I have no idea what the hell he's talking about. :reddevil:

LOL. It's good to be back. I just spent the last 3 days in Boston and it was a little too chilly for me.

I like that forecast.

:D
