WRECKED! Boating gone wrong!

i dont even wanna guess on how much money he has there on damaged props and drives... probably my income for the rest of my life

I'm just guessing over $20K in props alone.

Per the owner, the cable snapped. Props and skegs seem to have taken the brunt of the impact. Boat is already at Nor-Tech being evaluated.

Cable snapped?
Doesn't he also have a safety chain to the bow stop?? About a 12-14" lead?
Hell, I even do that for just my little boat.

Per the owner, the cable snapped.

i guess its the most plausible conclusion to this, but how come did the boat moved that much back on the trailer and eventually fell, and as buoy said, there was no 2nd mecanism to prevent that??! i hope we'll learn more on this and how it did happen... really sad to see

I just don't get it ....... :(

Less than 2 minutes, a wrench and remove 2 prop nuts...

Why do people haul their boats with their props on and their rear tie down straps off ??? :ack2:

even if the boat was not connected to the cable the boat should not have moved unless the boat was too far back on the trailer. I have moved boats like this cross country with only the whinch stap and this has never happened. And we all know the kodiak that was pulling it would never have the power to speed up that quick

I don't think the guy they are interviewing in the video is the owner. HE's the driver.

And I don't think the cost of the damage is going to acutually be that bad.

2 hering props 5-10k each (the outer drives didn't have props on).

Repair two skegs for #6, 2,500 or so (the outer drives were shaved down from the factory).

reapir fiberglass at chine of the sponsons, 2,500 give or take.

So you're into the repairs for around 30k give or take. Probably wont even put it on the insurance.

Boat will most likely be ready for the water this weekend.:sifone:

Full time job covering all of the boards.

The driver was a guy hired by the owner of the boat. The hull never touched the ground.
Damaged two skegs and the props. The outer skegs are removed on a 4 engine boat.

Apparently our hulls are so fast they can't keep em on a trailer.
That should cover it.

I almost forgot about these old shots I took.

Rumor control TS at work!! Good job!!:sifone:

If I had half as many accidents as you guys make it seem I had I would have been in bad bad shape long long ago...... Spin a boat around a couple times and you make it sound like I was in a demo duck derby!!!! LOL

Steve Curtis needs to put a pool in at his house and get it out of his system before he shows up to the races... I swear that guy goes swimming in 50% of the races I've watched! (Hyperbole... but you know what I'm sayin'). I give the guy all the credit in the world though, he can run a boat and he has huge balls! (Figuratively speaking!) You don't get knighted for being a schmuck! :D

Well, here's another to add to the list!
If the cable snapped, Wouldn't you have rear straps pulling the boat foward to prevent slide back? and 3 straps in the front 1 pulling the boat back and 2 foward so that wouldn't happen. I know when I tow i make sure I am secure all the way around so the boat wont move. I even lock the trailer to the ball on my truck.
