Just checking to see if there will be another poker run in May for Daytona Beach. I will be there if there is one. :26:

I heard the Daytona poker run last year had Marine Patrol waiting on them to lavish them with tickets. Kind of a "you're not welcome here" thing it seems??? If you can't run the ocean, the inside is a long haul at 25 and 30 mph for a long time in a performance boat. Who wants to do 30 when you could be flying?? Not me.

Marine patrol was discouraging for the last two years from Daytona all the way to St. Augustine. 20 of the first 25 PR boats heading to Ponce Inlet were ticketed for speed violations (like 38 in a 30 type stuff). I ran the inside all the way to St. Augustine since my wife had a broken foot and saw no less than 5 officers running radar along the way. It is a tough poker run outside in the ocean if it gets rough since it is about 60 miles between inlets so it can be a long ride home if you break. It was a lot of politics involved causing the event to not be worth the hassle.

Two years ago they were running radar from the bridges ! ! !

just more typicall daytona bs....run spring breakers away..then bcr..but then they complain they aren't getting the money they used too..(last year all i heard was how bad bcr was and that the city wanted it toned down...fast forward this year all over the news with them complaining that it wasn't a big draw like before) gee i wonder why....bike week and biketoberfest better watch out..errr well daytona better learn from the mistakes with the other ones.. That sure is a long run on the inside if you have to go slow. The ocean does get rough and that makes it a long ride too..plus if you get up there but then have to come back on the inside...

yea i talked to stu about the daytona run, there were some marine patrol issues, the PKR in may is in south florida, sport cruiser class. but get ready for jax!

When we went two years ago, it was an awesome run. We had to run the inside all the way because the seas were 6+ foot and stacked.

We saw a lot of marine patrol and they seemed to be waiting at certain spots but I didn't realized there were speed limits all the way up the inter coastal from Daytona to St. Augustine. We would slow down to 30 in areas and speed up in others. Awesome run and scenary, up the inter coastal through there. Way different than in the south and through the keys

Been a long time since i did the run..but i think there is a limit from basically daytona to north of flager beach..then i think it has spots for speed..but you are supposed to stay 30 for a long long time...of course the cruisers and cc get away with more..the go fast better not be going 31

Yeah that year Sean from Lollipops was our "escort" running ahead of the pack..... After getting pulled over at 4X the speed limit, cop said "hey Sean is that you, next time keep it single file and have a good day." Sean was not around for subsequent runs and the police became an issue for the run.......
