Where to go for a honymoon

I always liked the Caribbean as it's the same time zone and there are direct flights available. On my honeymoon, we went to Negril Jamaica and stayed at the Sandals resort and had a great time. My wife and I loved all the water sports and cruises. Hedonism 2 was next to us...interesting place! We never went into town, as the locals weren't too friendly. A few years back we went to Aruba and this is a great place to vacation. It 85 and sunny every day, which is pretty much typical for this desert island.

Save the cash you would waste, for your 41 piggie bank. Wait til next year and go on a week long bender Around the islands. Im sure Ange wont argue.

Nice Tony!! I was thinking about that. Actually if my Scout project was done / done by then (I will fill everyone in a new thread here soon), We talked about leaving out of Cleveland and trying to see how far we could get on the great loop! Head towards buffelo to the Erie canal. That would be my dream!!

Bimini is a small place, not a lot to do but way more rustic than say Grand Bahama. The good news is it is like a 20 minute plane ride out of Lauderdale so you can get there/back easily. New resort Bimini Bay looks awesome but outside of that place Bimini is old/rustic.

Atlantis is where I would want to stay for a weekend....everything is there, great food, casino and every activity under the sun!

Thats why I thought Bimini would be cool since it is old and rustic. Less touristy. I thought maybee a few days there and then a few days at the Alantis. My parents went there a while ago for the SBI races and said it was great!!

Other than Ft. Lauderdale my favorite place in North America is Vancouver British Columbia. Absolutey some of the most amazing sights. The city is beautiful, the people are great and theres TONS to do. Take a 2 day trip and drive east to Banff which is like a post-card ski town on Lake Louise then keep going until you get to Calgary. Another awesome city.

Sounds pretty neet but gotta go to the warm weather!! To many cold months up here in Wisconsin..

That looks pretty cool.. What happens if you run out of beer... :)

You get in your car, drive down this crazy driveway and to the local bar.... :D

I had a few brews with the local cops one night. :D

If you happen to be lucky enough to be there for full moon then you go to the Bamba Shack.

Boating, Drinking, and just being by the water / in it...... :)

BVI's for boating close but tropical. Get on line and rent something ahead of time.

Snorkling/diving, Little Cayman. (But we're headed to Bonaire the day after Thanksgiving for a week. Will fill you in).

Drinking, gotta be Mexico. Cozumel or Playa del Carma area. Really cheap to drink and snorkel/sit on the beach. I've never been anywhere I'd rather be if I were an alcholic....:sifone:

All around US fun, the middle and lower Keys. Talk to BBB and Bobcat.

We got married/honeymooned in the South Pacific. No where better we've been, but it's a longazz flight to Tahiti/BoraBora. Hawaii is much closer. Maui our favorite there. Kauai second.

Only four hotels/dive resorts on the island. One restuarant other than those places.

Wild iguanas that will come out of the bushes to eat bananas. About four cars on the entire island. Snorkling from shore. One spot you can snorkel out and about 100 feet from shore your feet are in 20 feet of water and your head is in 2000 feet of water. Sharks swimming along the wall etc.

Another spot on the other end we saw turtles and sharks every time we went, plus all the usual angels etc.

Rode bikes around the island and never got passed by a single car one day. Quiet place to relax, dive, drink, and snorkel.

This may sound strange, but the best trip of my life that me and the wife had was the move from the east coast to the west.
We were on no timeframe, no budget, stopped whenever you felt like it, or if there was something you wanted to stop for, stop and take your time.

Just jump in the car/truck and drive. Stop when you feel like stopping, see whatever is along the route. Have a destination, but not a real ETA.
This is a huge country, and very different in very different regions.
There was nothing better than being with my wife, and just doing whatever, whenever we wanted, and not worried about appointments, reservations, or schedules.
I've had too many vacations that also turned into a chore because you had a checklist of everything you needed to see or do while you were there.
Having NO schedule, and maybe an ultimate destination with no particular reason... I'd love to do it again.

Oh,
And I'm still trying to figure out if the mis-spelling in the thread title was supposed to be "Honeymoon", or "Hornymoon":sifone:

I was at Negril Jamacia (Sandals) for 10 days about 2 years ago in Sept during the elections. They get in to their politics!

I'm not in to flying too far and looking for Honeymoon spots as well. She wants 3 weeks in Australia, I want to upgrade to a triple outboard boat...

Ian and I love watersports so the all inclusive resorts like Sandals worked well for us, we waterskied several times a day, learned to scuba and went everyday, we used their sunfish boats, went on the snorkle trips and since we enjoy a coctail or two or three enjoyed their unlimited bar access. The daily rates are expensive so if you don't do the sports stuff that is included is probably not worth the money. You said that you want to see differnt places, perhaps you would like a cruise. There are some good cruise deals out there.

I have some friends doing a 10 day cruise around the Med Sea right now- $2100/person for balcony suite- reg price was around $4K from what they said. Not sure if the included airfare.
