The time is getting closer and I was chosen to make the plans.... Super long plane rides will not do.. aka. Hawaii. We both decided we dont want to just sit on our arses the whole vacation... I was thinking about Ilsand hopping in the Bahamas.... I would love to check out Bimini.... :) Any thoughts, Suggestions, or places definately not to go......
Thanks

Other than sex, what's your favorite outdoor thing to do together. Honeymoon's need to be memorable. Something you'll never forget doing, and enjoying, together.

From personal experience I would say avoid Jamaica. I'm sure some people love it, but I did not care for it and I know several others that feel the same way. Weather and water is great though.

Save the cash you would waste, for your 41 piggie bank. Wait til next year and go on a week long bender Around the islands. Im sure Ange wont argue.

I went to the Bahamas on my honeymoon. Neither I or my wife liked it, so I chartered a flight back to FTL, and we spent the week in the Keys.

I love the islands and tropics. But I've also had some great non-tropical getaways. A few years ago, I flew to Vegas, spent a day, drove across the desert to Laguna and worked my way up to Malibu. Took a week or so. No plans. Stayed on the water in Laguna. So different than the East coast. And beautiful. Drove up PCH into LA Spent a couple nights in Hollywood. Hung out in Santa Monica. Then up to Malibu. Then out into the desert. One of my best trips ever.

Another cool non-tropical trip would be from Monterey, Ca up Hwy 101 to Astoria, Or. Probably the most scenic trip I've ever taken. I've been all over the world, and across country a half dozen times.

If you go to either St. Thomas (USVI) or San Juan (Puerto Rico), you will stay inside the US, and not need a passport.

With the way the world is these days, it's worth a look...

Good luck and congrats!

Bimini is a small place, not a lot to do but way more rustic than say Grand Bahama. The good news is it is like a 20 minute plane ride out of Lauderdale so you can get there/back easily. New resort Bimini Bay looks awesome but outside of that place Bimini is old/rustic.

Atlantis is where I would want to stay for a weekend....everything is there, great food, casino and every activity under the sun!

Other than Ft. Lauderdale my favorite place in North America is Vancouver British Columbia. Absolutey some of the most amazing sights. The city is beautiful, the people are great and theres TONS to do. Take a 2 day trip and drive east to Banff which is like a post-card ski town on Lake Louise then keep going until you get to Calgary. Another awesome city.

I have to recommend the coast of Costa Rica. We stayed in Playa Tamarindo for Christmas and New Years a couple years back and it was just awesome.

We don't do the all inclusive places either. My GF sets up our own trip and we just kinda land where we land for activities when we get there. IMHO, all-inclusives are all the same with just a bit different scenery.

I believe you need a passport for either of them. I could be mistaken. I just had mine renewed from 1956 in the Phillipines.

I was thinking about Jamaca but I dont think its probably a good idea to "explore" the island. We decided we dont want to be stuck in one place.

There is a member on here that owns a B&B somewhere in the Caribbean and if you stay there he will give you a ride on his 28 Pantera!
