88 on the GPS in key west:driving:

The concensus seems to be that most race 41 apaches with horsepower from 800 to under 1000 run on average, mid 80's to mid 90's. Over 1000hp from low 90's to low 100's. Some either light layup's or very well set up 41's have claimed speeds over 110. Has anyone here seen that kind of (gps)speed in a 41?

Mine ran 92 to 93 with 925's wet sumps drives and trannys. Johnny T from TNT had her running 96 to 97 with smaller props.

my last 41 apache Flyin Falcon with 6 pack race set up with tommy chief 950"s and six drives ran 103 mph several times with really low fuel.

I have been on 4 41's all with 950-1250 hp. The lowest top speed I have seen was 96 the fastest 103 on GPS. One boat had 3a's, one #5, and two #6's (one had wet, one had dry sump). Now I must preface this, since each ride was never a Top Speed type ride. Decent fuel, passangers, and not always the best water. I have never seen 110 obviously on a 41, but I think under the right conditions the boat I went 103 on might come pretty close...

There are always variables that could give or take mph, fuel, passengers, water ect. but I would think safe to say that the very fastest 41 Apaches wont reach 120 even under the best of circumstances . Even though some people say Predator was a light layup I tend to dissagree since I heard from very reliable sources it was an average weight 41 (around 10,500#s) and I would think its been one of the fastest since it got some very good r&d from some very capable people, top speed with props for the application was said to be over 110.

predator is light my buddy used to own her and I walked on her deck and felt like I was going to fall thru, it dipped way more then his other 41 taktonka and any other 41 I have been on.

I was told by someone very close to that racing team that the boat weighed around 10,500 pounds in race trim. I know this person well and see no reason for him to make it up or lie. You may be right. It may be a light boat, How much do you think it weighs?
