Ok, I'll bite the bait. But only for a moment since I have family in town.

Let me get this straight. you are offended that a tax to pay for the war is being considered. Were you offended when we invaded two countries and spent the money over the last 8 years? Why is it patriotic to invade every petty country in the middle east like some gung-ho, smash mouth, John Madden, Oakland Raider offense scheme, but it's treason to PAY FOR IT? These are the pressing questions that no one is asking. Because many people like to armchair quarterback the strategy, but are insulted at the idea of actually paying for it.

I get it. Maybe I should think about the 46' Skater of my dreams. Then get so convinced I should have it that I walk over and take it from someone else. And when they ask me to pay for it, I tell them they are treasonous of making such an absurd request.

I am just as offended by more taxes as anyone else. but if I am going to ask my military to win a war, or two wars, I need to pay for it with more than borrowed money from China.

So for people who want to pall-around with Palin who makes empty comments like cut taxes and the economy will sour, I have a few thoughts:

1) You can't think the solution to everything is cutting taxes. If cutting taxes unilaterally means higher government revenue, wouldn't "no taxes" equal infinite revenue? We have to accept some balance of taxes versus government revenue.

2) If you want to see the government keep your taxes low, then fight any and all efforts to continue both the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. Stop anyone from talking about smash-mouth invading Iran, let the middle eastern countries police themselves. And figure out how some of the resources can be spent to grow our economy. Japan, India and China are reaping all the gains in the global economy. they subsidize education, healthcare and many manufacturing costs and reap huge revenues from consumption taxes. Our economy is trying to move that direction, but there are many ignorant (not idiotic or stupid, just uninformed) people who stand in the way.

3) If you think Palin is the future of the republican party. You better get ready for Obama's re-election. Not only does she possess less political prowess than my right testicle, the dem's are salivating at running against her. I'd love her in Playboy (actually Hustler) but she a no-start candidate. So let's implement some brain power and think about winning seats for real conservatives.

4) It was very easy for her to be successful in Alaska because of the massive oil revenue and outright checks she hands to the people. The US doesn't have that luxury. And we cannot get a real gage on her prowess because she didn't finish her first term. I'll give you a heads-up on the Dems main line of attack if she runs. . . "don't elect her. She'll quit on you when the media and pundits get tough and go write a book." That'll resonate with voters as they are watching Obama get pounded by the right and he is still there. We may not like what he is doing, but running against her will be a slam dunk and they want it. So we need to find competent candidates like Romney and promote them. Not a circus side-show complete with Playgirl son-in-law and teenage child with kid.

That is how you take data and make a long post on SOS, without cut-n-paste.

Seriously, to you and everyone on SOS, Happy Thanksgiving. I'll go have a bunch of drinks and check this thread. Can't wait to see what abuse I might endure.

Dang LC, I actually agree with pretty much everything there....you must already be drinking...:D

So how many of you keep track of the ACTUAL "stimulus" spending? Cuz when you go around spouting off about $800Billion being wasted, you make yourself look pretty ignorant seeing as how less than $100B has ACTUALLY been doled out. On one hand, kind of explains why the economy hasn't improved...because of the (lack of) stimulus. OTOH, I like the idea that these nimrods in DC are dragging their feet with the spending. It's just chump change in the end, but that's $700Billion in national debt that we haven't issued (yet).

The point of starting this thread was to point out how the dems wasted 800 billion on a job stimulas (pork) bill that could have been used to pay for the wars. Also, why do the dems think only the rich should pay for the war when our armed forces are protecting all of us. Because its just another example of commy wealth distribution.

Hate to break your Bubble BUT:

Guys you know of course Sarah Palin has the conservative vote locked so far, Now Mitt may have the car salesmen and RINO vote but not anything more and Is not Liked.

He would be lucky to carry 20% of the vote when Palin is in the 60s and 70s percentage wise. I suggest you look in some of the real Political Forums Like Free Republic and Coulter for a CLUE. Best Regards!

There is NO CHANCE that she gets the nod after walking out on her Governership. No one will trust her to stick it out as President

I certainly did not vote for him but the Republicans have to share as much in the blame as anyone. Bush was not a well liked guy at the end of his 8 years.
