The Positive SVL thread

who funded the project for the phantom,

I was told long ago a customer helped get the first one from open cockpit concept to closed cockpit running boat. This was a big leap of faith at the time as you needed 5 completed boats (hull and deck) to compete in A class at that time.

u right it doesnt matter thats why i erased it i only put it up 2 mess with will.

So Batboat must be our buddy Rob from NY that had the Original Bronx Phantom. Will had that boat in Key West 1995, unrigged, sitting in the pits with Mr. Technology. That hull got more attention than anything there.

If that's the case, it then went to Trinidad, got a wild paint job, then came back and is now Octane.

Rob, I hear you have a new one being built at Will's shop right now. What's the deal, will you be ready by this Spring?

Wow, I didnt realize that boat was built back in 95. Thought they were all built in 97 / 98. How long did Rob own it before it went to Trinidad?

I'd say he owned it for two or three years before it went south. I believe the boat raced for the first time in1996.

I just pulled my 1996 KW photos.....and Bronx Phantom and Eriesistible made their debut in 1996. I fell in love with the boats then, and bought one in November 1998.
