Oh yah, I didn't think it was phony (I think the Mythbusters show is phony, entertaining as all get out, but totally BS)... I agree, the boat they used was the wrong layup and the condition they were in was the wrong "lay out..."
they said at "25mph" anyone here on the bay knows that aint right ...and that boat was put back together. the one they used in the test is a rock, not any ol potato chip fountain.
they also did not factor in hydrodynamic pressure...a boat going straight in the water wants to go straight a boat in the air is subject to much easier deflection.
I wish I took pictures when I was working in Biloxi after Katrina. Saw some very unnusual states for boats.. The eerie ones was when you went kayaking in the bay and floated overtop of sunken boats... you could see the helm and superstructure.
Was that Candyshop? I thought that boat went to the middle east. Also thought I'd heard someone scuttled her with a garden hose, but I could be mixed up on that...
