The Official " 1st Boat Thread " and more......

17' Switzer-200hp Black Max.....Too much fun, free boat, 1-1/2 yr project 3 power heads & 12k later, 82mph! Couldn't get anyone to ride along, that whole chine walk thing! Nothing in the water but prop and she would walk sideways like someone stated earlier. That is a strange feeling.

so bill which one was your first boat????

I know Dave I listed all my boats!!!!!, I broke the rule:sifone. I was drinking again last night while posting!!! My first boat was the 1997 Wellcraft Scarab Jet, wich I have no pics of.

1979 Checkmate Convincor Jet 19'9" powered by Ford 460ci with Berkley Jet. I remember the gold metalflake original paint. Had a foot pedal for throttle and could raise the jet quite high and throw one hell of a rooster tail!

My 1st boat was like a 10' 1966 (not sure) Glaspar with a 5hp Sears motor. But I didn't buy it since I was like 12.

1st boat I bought when I was 15 was a 15' White Swan with a 55hp Chrysler. Had a blast in it!

60 something smokercraft with 18hp evinrude later replaced with 1977 16' lund and 25 hp Johnson.......you have to start somewhere

When I was like 10 I boat my first boat... (I had the family dingy before that :)
She was an 8' Fliver with a 35HP engine on it. She was over powered, but would only get on plane if you'd nail it, let go of the engine, and run up to the front and lean over the bow... Then crawl back and steer... Oh those were the days...

At 10 years old I'm sure that sounded like a great idea!! Did you have your lanyard on?:biggrinjester:

My first boat, 86' Scarab Panther w/500's and TRS. Waited some time and didn't want to buy under 30 ft because I wanted to be able to run the ocean. Did a full resto on it then used it for 5-6 years and got rid of it cause me and my wife were getting beat up on the ocean and got the Apache.

no pics but, Bought our first boat when I was 22 years old (I had just gotten married). Brand new 1994 26ft Bayliner cruiser. Bought it new cheap, sold it 3 years later for $1,500 less than I paid for it.

First was 196 Crownline with a 350mag(no digital pics). Kept it about 1.5 seasons and moved up a 24 Outlaw. About 3 years later came the 28 Pantera and 6 years after that moved up to my current 32 active Thunder. At the rate I'm going, I'm gonna have the AT for 12 years:eek:
