The Great Unification

Best thought yet !

I promised J.Speros I would not continue my hate campaign against ??? so I will not mention that club in respect of his wishes .

ON the real side of things to be ,OPA & SBI have the most ( not all ) consistent sites ). between the two ,they cover half the most ground ( offshore racing , not too much inland ) .
These two entities should tighten the rules to match . I do not believe they are far off now are they ? ( please advise if wrong .)

It really is time for OPA & SBI to to hook up rules wise .Both Smitty & JC are good buisinessmen ,and do quite well procuring the same sites each year .
Those two hold the key ,all they need is racer support .
Don,t even involve any other org,s right now . Its just arguing and there ???? ) Just you two ,(OPA & SBI )
You guys work only with each other ,THEN proceed to reach out to POPRA ( or whatever the west coast goes by now ) .
They ( popra ) will be easy to work in they always have played civilized during the whole debaucle since ,03 .I applaud all of them .

I realize $$$ and travel will hinder bringing all teams out to run both circuits ,however it will boost the boat count quite a bit ,toward the upper east and lower east coast sites .such as NY , Ocean city , The carolinas ETC.
I truly do hope OPA & SBI work on this , they are capable of having unity by spring .

Good luck guys , you two ARE the ones to do this .

( ,I would like to congratulate THE AMF team ,for over 5 years of constant positive ,move forward attitude . You are the team to emulate )

I will be on the phone tomorrow with Pete Meyer and Bubba. Hopefully something good will come from this. Always worked together in the past. So why not the future. The problem in the past was the APBA license did not allow co-santioned events. That problem no longer exisits. Smitty

I don't think we need to worry about that yet... we need races with boats first.. how much of a show would nascar be if 6 cars showed up at Daytona????

You missed my point
One sanction body, one CHAMPION per class in that sanction body. Not three sanction bodies and a gazillion champions.
I really noticed this looking at race photos this season. It appears there are more boats with a champion sticck then without.

Mike, Randy is a well respected, top ranked racer and equipment owner of many years. I have no reason to control him and he is not my people. You an the other hand seldom have anything good to say.

You should try to control yourself? No good will come of your malicious comments.

I did not provoke You in fact I fact I left you out of the equasion so as not to hurt youre feelings . Please do not give undo reason for my expulsion from this forum . Thank you .

Since youve spoken against me it is unlikely I will survive here much longer ,I will tell you my real feelings as to what will fix offshore .

In 2010 . Let not even ONE team show for any event , No one , nothing ,let each event ,fail miserably ,for all org s the whole season . Then the whole thing will fall flat ,And then A true ontrepenuir can come in and build from the ground up without the input of multi neighborhood small buisinessmen clogging the preverbial drain with their un semetrical , biased pittifull me me me attitudes . I could go on, However I wont .

Randy I did Not pick out The old oss in my remarks , in fact I avoided it . You no longer are on the race map due to these very types of comments . Youre old org ( oss ) are and have been for several years A mean spirited arrogant group . You have no respect from the majority of racers for this .

Yes Jim I know this will not see the light of day , I did what you asked .

Try next time controlling youre people .. MIKE GORDON

We try very hard to follow a very simple rule here. No personal attacks. If you wish to debate the message, there will be no problems. My suggestion is to try very hard to follow this rule and you really won't have to worry much about surviving here. The past is exactly that when it comes to Offshore racing. Everyone in this thread has expressed a desire to move forward. Hopefully you will assist with that goal. Thanks

Smitty is a true leader in this sport. He is once again moving the sport forward. We racers and site promoters should follow his lead. Thanks again Smitty.

Update, spoke to Bubba today, SBI will accept OPA reg, and OPA will accept SBI reg. Sending John our schedule...John sending me his. We will see how we can most compliment each other. Stay calm, lots to figure out, but a step in the right direction. Thanks Smitty.

Best news I've heard in a long time. Good luck guys. Hash it out and get it done.

Sept will be either Point Pleasant or Atlantic City, date depending on SBI ny race.

Atlantic City in September ?

I guess that throws the NJPPC Poker Run /OPA Race/ Seafood Festival all in a 3 day weekend in June idea out the window... ? :(

Oh well...

Whatever you decide Smitty, you have my support.
