Since next year technically starts with Key West. Does next years rules come out before Key West???? If so, anyway possible to review the rules for those three and make sure they are identical? They certainly are close right now....

i think the svl are really close now, oss has a set written, mr c told steve m, and frank to do what those guys want, so i would assume like "sarasota" and smitty did the same thing, so we got with steve m to see if he knows of any thing that arn,t the same,,( steve wrote the original) he said all,s look good,,so i would say SVL,S are good to go,!:USA:

I understand what you are saying. But, you will never get one org, let alone 3 or 4, to agree on one Vee Class and one Cat Class. It will not ever happen. Unless, as Rich says, there is only one of each left.

The reason, you just made 80% of all offshore boats currently racing obsolete.

You can still have P classes for everyone to use their non conforming boats. But having 2 premier classes with reasonably priced reliable boats is necessary for the overall marketing and growth of the product. Look at all the ways you can race before you get to NASCAR. But at the top there are 3 classes, build the vehicle to run in them or don't run. And don't get me wrong, the P classes will draw as much as the big boys, just on a different level. And without them, there is nothing to feed racers up the line.

I'm not talking about the P classes, I'm talking about the current spec classes.

Super Vee - twin 525's
Super Vee Light - single 525's

Knocking past those 6 down to one Vee and one Cat is a recipe for failure. You eliminated 80% of the boats currently running so no one in that 80% will assist in any way.

There is no doubt some finesse is necessary and negotiations would need to be made with the players but by using a P/W formula and a few tweaks you could get there. And there is nothing to say that the feeder classes would have to be bracketed, what would be wrong with having SVL and even Cat lite run with the bracket classes on Saturday and then running the top classes only on Sunday for the big show. Kind of like truck series on Friday, Nationwide on Saturday, and Cup cars on Sunday.....

Exactly, let's start a race organization Jimmy :26::sifone::rofl: But there will need to be a system designed to allow the most boats to compete with minor tweaking. It really is not rocket science if people put away the egos and really want to race.

Sounds like some great TV for a Sunday afternoon huh? Of course they might have to run say 100 miles or more to fill the time slot in, that might be some real racing wouldn't it?

Nor am I Jim, it can be done with what is in place. And I totally agree on points determining a title.

80%- uhhh.

first off, i said one org needs to step up. opa would be the prime canidate because they have a strong base of P class boats that can back up the boat count and make a show of just that. of those 80% they could easily fit into p classes or one of the newly formed classes. and i know this might **** of the SVL guys but your not going to be the premier class. svl needs to go into the p class for the good of racing and have just 2 classes one v and one cat.

sad part, i really never see offshore getting better anytime soon since everyone wants there own checkered flag and lets be real T2x is dead on about the qualitiy of racing.

The Show can be defined a number a ways: The boat count on any given day, the class with the most entries, biggest fastest, the newest, or the boats that travel the country and do the most events.

Why can't we just ALL show up at a race site and have fun,,,why do we have to cut down classes ??? if we would all bring the boats to 1 race we would actually have so many boats there we could fill all of the existing classes.
Thats why i think if WE the racers keep on bashing each other and try to tell everybody that 1 of us is better,richer then the rest,,we will never get a unification in racing.
Lets all go to as race and have fun,,,,,that is what its all about,,then the rest will fall in place !!!!

Just my 2 cents.

30% of the racers with boats try to post here about unification and then never show up with there boat ,,using all kind of excuses.
