The evolution of the 38 DW Fury

Sean, is that DW shop ???

And Petra my wife said ,,,OH well, i can't call it flippy anymore i guess.LOL

It actually look'd good in KW ! So what are u all changing now, the fueltanks i heard,,,what else ?!

new canopy, thicker windscreens, no bolt windscreen mask, crash bulkheads in front and rear of cockpit liner, new cockpit liner with bigger/thicker roll cage, thicker hatches, wider flanges, new fuel tanks, relocation of canopy/fuel tank/liner/engines in relation to hull (no need for hatch scoops for engines), new longer bustle, new/moved bilge stringers..... other than that, just cleanin' it up a bit.

Obviously a new rig job comes with all that work... a new zero penetration cockpit rig job, all safety hardware will be reviewed/replaced/re-installed as needed, new adjustable engine rail system and a few other items to bring her back to all her glory.

and yes, that is one of the bays over at DW's.

WOW !!!!!!!

If thats all ,,,i actually have nothing to do with mine .....LOL:sifone::rolleyes:

This is actually more cost effective and faster.

Plus, in todays boat market, you would have to sit on the old hull with no power for some time or give it away. The old canopy is actually sold already, recouping some of the cost of the new one.

The next step will be the layup of the deck which will contain part of the canopy obviously, will also have the construction of the crash bulkheads, liner and where the rollcage transfers to the hull completing the safety cell. Then it will be deck/canopy meets hull to finish off that phase and onto rigging.

I love it!!! Thanks for sharing. How much lower is the deck going to be? Are you going 525 or 850's?

The boat has taken a good beating over the last two years, never once putting the crew in jeopardy or even doing major damage to the boat. It has had many run in's on the course with other boats as well as the obvious over turns as well. It was time for a thorough check up and safety update especially after what happened in Dubai with the Victory team.

Even with the additional structure added to the canopy/cockpit system, the hopes are that if need be it would be able to make weight in Cat Lite at 8350, but it will be rerigged at this point in 850 setup.

Sean, when you say Hull #1, do you mean race hull #1 or overall the first hull out of the mold? I was under the impression that Dale's boat was the first out of the mold?

Who is making the new windscreen? Stretched Acrylic or Polycarbonate?

Well, yes, its the first 38 race hull, Dales is the first version of this hull, but is drastically different with a shorter running surface and the rudder obviously.

It will be stretched acrylic again from Triumph.
