The Day SVL Died

Our boats run 110 with the 31 1:36 gear. With the 1.50 we see 100. In most conditions we race in the top end is more valueable than the acceleration since we are normally hitting the rev limiter at 2/3rds down the straight away even with the 1:36. So unless it is Ocean City water, we nearly always run a 1:36 with either the 31 or 30 6 blade Herring labbed by BBlades

Cool. I left the 1:36's on the boat. Should be interesting to see how it runs after we burn off some fuel.

I'd like to, but how can someone pick from 500 classes and myriad rules with barely any enforcement?

:bump:

Just get over all that and realize we just old guys out to have a good time. Bring the new SV to Michigan next year.[/QUOTE]

The lids are gone and I will not race an open boat, but maybe I will come to MI next year anyway. :sifone:

I hope that Brian Forehand guy was in the Fountain, Spinning, I am so sick of listening to all you guys tell me how great he is at runnin that boat.

Was the water two feet or more today?

From what I could see on the live feed - before it went off air - Randy and Colby got caught in the back on the start. The green flag was thrown before everyone could get on plane, but they had a great run. Amazing the Fountain could spin twice and still catch Typhoon. Steve would have finished a distant second had the Fountain not spun twice.

Spinning or wrecking in KW is nothing to be ashamed of as everyone knows. I have seen the boat race twice in really rough conditions and if Brian is the guy who runs the boat he is very, very, good. And if he does it all by himself then he is even better than that.

Hey Dean, I can fire up the mill and make you a little device that limits the wheel to a 1/4 turn in each direction, next year the championship is yours!!!!

It was an exciting race, I can tell you that.

I don't know if Steve could have completely run down Doc or not. But, on our times he was closing the first two laps. Terrible start by everyone but Doc.

Looked like they loosened the boat up and had better top speed on the straights than the first race. But, the boat would lay the nose down in the corners and try to pivot around it. Happened twice. Probably really high on the X, but that's just speculation.

So, after two races;

Steve and Gary - 2 firsts
Randy and Colby - 1 second, 1 third
Doc and Brian - 1 third, one second
Dave and Travis - 2 fourths

I listed Randy and Colby in second only because I'm guessing on the overall time.

Funny you should say that.....

I was talking to Dan before that race and he said he still stands behind his $5000 that Brian can run a faster lap in Steve's boat than Steve and Gary can......:sifone:

You guys should discuss it one of these days.

Talked with Doc downtown. He and Brian lost radio's, so they were on different wavelengths as to what to do in the corners.....

Don't want to :beatdeadhorse5:, I don't know who Dan is (Global Warmer ? ) and I surely don't have money to throw at gambles like that........but I doubt it.

Can't wait for sunday, I've been too busy winterizing to be able to watch the later races online. Good luck to everyone, be safe, have fun, and hopefully gain back some credit for the svl class,

Doc said he was on throttles and Brian drove a couple corners different than what Doc thought so they had too much speed for the line chosen. Said they tried yelling communications, but that didn't work.

Brian and he both said the far spin was a rough one. Lucky to have the gimble hold up.
