The Day SVL Died

Not Kidding!! Sunprint/Typhoon were within shouting distance!! Great race!!

Wonder if someone had a gun on them. The boats both looked to be dancing well.....

Kinda like they both had been working on them recently......:sifone:

Randy hasnt touched his since Orange Beach. Didnt even flush the motor.

It's true!:reddevil:

I believe it Bruce. Steve did nothing either except remove the bussel. Randy and Steve ran close together as you would have expected in a relatively flat race. From what I saw the difference was that Gary got the better of Colby in two spots, turn 1 and entering the harbor on the second to last lap, for the win.

As for the Fountain team, my best guess is that they went with their smallest prop and 1:65 gear thinking it was going to be rough like yesterday. If they hit their set up right on Friday my guess is they will win by over a minute because they still have 5+ mph on Randy and Steve and with a third place they need to win the next two and gain as much time as possible.

Great race guys, was hoping to see you running in rough water, hopefully Friday will hold different waters and let the equalizer kick in..

Pretty equal conditions today. Neither of the Extremes are set up like the fast Phantoms so the calmer conditions did not give either an advantage. Based on what I saw, Typhoon was a tick faster as they burned off fuel and actually caught SunPrint twice but Gary slammed the door both times. I will bet Reggie's ace is chapped right now, which usually means utter destruction is in store for the competition on Friday, provided the Fountain team does not miss their set up again. Doubt that will happen twice in a row but it sure makes for a fun Friday!

that was the best racing i have seen in years,,great job to everyone their,,,that kind of racing will keep this class alive and well...what happened to pirate ? that boat was at will.s for two weeks ,

Wil Smith was there, chatted with him a bit.

He said Pirate lost their steering and had to pull out. Too bad, I know Dave and Travis were looking forward to this race.

Also heard Doc and Brian were heard popping on the limiter quite often. So they may have had the setup wrong as Mike thought.

So, what is the consensus on why the Fountain was so slow yesterday? Prop? Gear? Hurt motor?

If I posted the actual consenses I've heard, the place would explode again.

We'll just have to wait and see what happens.
