Look everyone keeps banging on Randy who I had the fortune of racing a race with this year.....he was nothing but professional and I will get back in the boat with him anytime......so if you guys wanna race lets go I am sure Randy who I haven't talked with for a couple of weeks because of scheduling and work as well as recovery would be willing to tear his stuff up again so we can kick your asses in the rough.....MAN UP BOYS life is a race in itself so what do we have to lose here besides some pride.....Oh you wanna make it interesting you say....name it but please shut up and race!!!!!! See ya next month PM me if anyone really wants to wet their whistles in the rough because I'm your huckleberry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Gino,read back all the post and you will find it.those were his own words "I failed"

I'm looking at it as...If the LLC failed...and you also can read post from current racers that said he failed....
Then what the hell have we did since he left...
7 years later...our sport should be so much better now then the LLC days
Less boats..
Less spec classes
Less TV...
Classes running there own show...
No full tech....ect...ect...ect...
Its almost like the Orgs have to follow the demans of some racer...because they need the boat count and they have to bend over backwards to make everyone happy...vice let the Orgs run the show and the racers shut up and race...instead of threating to put boats on the trailer or start something new..
Its unforunate that the racers have this power over the Orgs...its a catch 22...
When before it was this is it...you want to race...here are the rules...if you did not follow them you were called to the APBA trailer and being talked to..been there..and they heard you out but in the end they had the finnal decission..and you repsected it and went back to racing....(Funny...I wounder if other sports are run that way)

I seen what we had..and I have seen the last 7 years...we have not even gotten back to the Failing years of LLC as you said Mike commmented...
OPA has grown since...and still is...
SBI is still the way I remembered in it in back then...14 - 25 boats..not counting Key West...
The differance now...the racers have been calling the shots...and holding the Orgs at bay....
We have all heard this...there are to many chiefs and not enough indians...and you never here anyone disagree with that..

You want to fix say the SVL class for instance..
Let Smitty and John work out the rules..So both orgs can have the same rules..once in place...you come and race...no bitching..no crying who's faster or who has new equipment or whos cheating..or I can't beat him...you have a problem you protest it to the Org...and there call is fianal...and you just race...
Right now there are no rules..
You have rebuilt engines not sealed..
Hulls mod..
Hot ECM'S..ect ..ect..ect..and how did it come to this...the racers running the show...

Its just how me... one dumm racer see's it as all the failing in the past...

Right on brother. But have hope. There are some good, smart people, still hanging around the sport and you never know what may happen.

George..well I hope that you all just go and race...
Guys like Smitty know were and how to make the class as competitive as you can with the older and newer tech...
And what ever the powers to be come up with..that it is respected and embrassed the best it can be and see where it leads to and you guys give it all for 1 year and see what happens...

Now your scaring me...we have been kinda seeing eye to eye for the last 3 weeks....its time for me to be quite for awhile before I say something stupid again...
 
Ok so its settled,Let them make the rules and if you want to race follow the rules.sounds pretty simple to me!Can we all just be friends now?
 
I think that if any example can be used to parity and spec racing..its the SS Class...
This class has some of the best racing in a spec class and the older tech is still running with the newer boats..
You do not here all the BS like other spec classes...the cheating and so on...
You have 2 of the best racers out here with Gary B and Paul W. running and guys like Steve Q, Ryan, Talbot a brand new team and others still running with the best....same engines...and so on...its shows with great talant like Grant you can put him in any boat and it will run up front...
If you have noticed..you do not here any negitive BS in that class..
And you see teams like Stihl come out and race in SS...be very competitive and then move up to SCL..and there SS boat gets bought and continues to race....with 5 to 7 boats in the class...
If anything...that class is a great example of what a spec class should be...
3 differant hull manufactures....and at least 10 years between the newest hull and the oldest racing...

Best I can offer right now is Pt Pleasant Nov 6th bro unless you're going to kw then we can do it following weekend after kw!!!....work schedules conflict with your schedule......Pt Pleasant to Seaside Heights and back!!!! Randy is on board with this bro!!!!!!

I can't schedule on 4 hrs of notice like you can brother!!!!

I'll arrange coverage. WOnder if we can include thebet with Dan and Steve about Brian being faster around a course in Steve's boat for $5000 at the same time???? I think there was another taker or two also.....

I wounder if it really happend would there be any tech after the race...or is it a run what you brung race...you know 6000rpms..do what you want to the engine before hand ...no weight limits..ect....

Why not just do KW...and looser pays all the expences for the winner...and kill 2 birds with 1 stone...and do it in front of a crowd...with a title on the line...
