So I quit smoking today.

mrs. Mosi was a 1/2 a pack a day smoker.....
.
.
.
......new years eve 2008 she said she wanted to quit. I told her to make it easier and as a reward......everytime she had the urge to smoke ....instead of a cigarette, she could have sex with me .....
.
.
.....it's been a year now and mrs mosi is now smoking 3 1/2 packs a day :( :(

lol!

Well how are the other quitters doing. I quit new years eve and am still cigarette free.... my wife on the other hand only lasted 2 days.

Good luck to you guys!

I've been trying to quit caffine for about three weeks now. I won't even put into writing how much coffee and energy drink I was drinking... I weaned it down to one coffee or 5 hour energy a day last week and that wasn't awesome but doable. Satuday I dropped that as well and I've felt like my head was going to fall off every since. I'm over being tired all the time, but I've had pounding headaches every day since Saturday.

I really feel for you guys kicking the smokes. Just dumb luck (and lack of money I guess) that I never picked up that habit. Anyhow, just wanted to throw in some support.

You guys take it one day at a time. before you know it 6 months will have gone by and then a year. Keep up the good work.

Congrats & stick with it! I quit about 13 yrs ago and it's one of the smartest decisions I've made. It took me about 6 months to really not think about it anymore...now it disgusts me.

Keep up the good work!

Ok, a little intellegual help here from the pro's of SOS. I have developed a sinus congestion problem since I have quit. I do not mean simple congestion but serious congestion, ie BLOCKED, no cough. Doctor perscribed 10 days of anti-biotics, 10 days........zero. Anyone have a suggestion. Google has not beeen my friend. I go to the doctors again on the 3rd, and no I have not smoked. ANYONE???? It is driving me nuts, bad enough it is disrupting my daily life, breathing I consider to be a right...... No joke.
Thanks as all ways,
HT

My wife had a similar condition; sinus blockage was visible in a cat scan; had to have sinus surgery to clean all the old dry snot out.

We both quit years ago; last night went to a club to see a good band; got there early to eat some dinner; by the time the band started playing the place was so smokey we had to leave; you literally could not breath any fresh air; it was disgusting. Once you quit you eventually realize just how offensive smoking can be to non-smokers; I think its even worse for ex-smokers.

Surgery.....You have got to be kidding??? How long ago was this?
HT

It was done a couple of years ago...basically all they do is stick a vacuum hose up your nose and into your sinus cavity and suck all the crap out. Yes they do put you out and it is done in an O.R.

When they saw it on her CAT scan they weren't sure exactly what it was (showed as black where it should have been white) but it was baked in crud and they were able to extract it...

It's been fifteen year since my last, had some of that sinus deal too I was two packs a day for about 15 years................................Just picture all those ashes in your lungs...cold turkey is the only way (mind over matter).O and the wife still smokes.
After you get the first month under your belt it gets easyer, hang in there food will start to have taste again
