Please keep all who were murdered on Sept 11 2001 in your thoughts
tomorrow. And the many who are now sick or have already died from exposure to the toxins that day and the months afterward.

What I will never forget Is going up there after when you first get on the N.J turnpike from the parkway you can see lower Manhattan.But this time the towers were gone and there was a hugh cloud of smoke.It looked like everyhing in lower Manhattan was on fire

I was just going to search the other site for the threads from that day. Some from people onsite in Manhattan. Chilling to say the least, but a vivid reminder of the momentous events.
 
I was running a Lathe to my shop when I got an SMS that the WW3 is going to start soon and was told the Twin Towers was hit.. came home immidiately, stayed on TV the whole night after that and couldn´t first believe what had happened and why.

The World has never been the same after this day but it was too rude a wake up call.

So today I´m definitely wearing my Yankees T-Shirt.

I will not ask the question "how rude would have been just right?"

I will however, suggest that US citizens may not embrace your analogy. What a European may see as "rude," an American may see as the human face of Satan on Earth.

God Bless the brave who knew exactly what they were charging into that day, the innocent who had no idea... and the loved ones that they all left behind. And continue to leave behind....

Rude = cruel, too bloody,uncalled for, you get my drift.

I know Americans have a hard time getting to grips with the fact that actually this was the day USA really started to get a taste of the thing Europe has had to live with on a daily basis and take precautions for the last 100 yrs.
That´s Terrorism for you.

Not to insult anyone here and showe on any americans face but the fact is U.S.A had until that day and Oklahoma massacre slept a innocent babys sleep.
Therefore I call it a rude awakening/ a normal Terror act, other may call it a massmurder or whatever suits one and I Think we all agree on the enemy.
 
Thinking there may be a language barrier with MikeyFIN; English is his 2nd language. I don't want to fry the guy when I don't think what he is saying is really what he is saying is all.

We say "Never Forget" yet seems so many already have...

I for one can tell you I will never, ever, ever forget images like this nor do I ever want to.

You´re right. I do wanna be delicate on the subject and respect those missing.

Actually English is my second or 3rd take your pick... I have 2 firsts, Finnish and Swedish, Finland is bilingual.

I saw those images also. It was after all a LIVE FEED around the world.
But there´s so much more brutal images one has seen and we have been shown in school even just so we won´t forget.
(Our Civil war, Winter War, Continuation war, The Holocaust etc)

I personally served my Army in a former Civil war prison camp 1987/88 and there was 3000 reds buried under our parking lot, all our own countrymen.
The windows still carried the stumps in the tiles of the bars.

Must tell you this story of the place ;
We had this backlit room where we dryed our clothes in the company and during the civil war memorial day we had a semi-open doors day in the Army, me personally being the highest in command in the company that day.
We we´re absolutely told not to let anyone in the premises but when an old lady came to the door and asked permission to enter I was called on place.
She told here story and I just had to give her permission to enter the premises.
She told me that the backlit room right here on the right side of us was the room she was born in...
 
Anyway.....

God Bless those who lost their lives and loved ones on 9/11 and those Americans who acted with such bravery and herosim.
 
I had my whole crew inside a baghouse changing filter bags grumbling and *****ing when the pit owner drove up to tell us that the first tower had just been hit. We rigged up the only radio we could find to listen to the news. I told the guys they could go home if they wanted, they all stayed, it was a quiet rest of the day.
 
It was a terrible, sad day, but it sure would be nice to go back to the way the country was on 9/12. There was no bickering between parties. Everyone was proud to be an American, and had a common goal in mind. It's a shame people can't remember that day. :( RIP

My wife was there. Watched it all. Saw this is in person. Rude? Just doesn't cover it. I thought she died. Never, never forget.:USA:
