September 11 2001

Not to take away from your situation MikeyFIN, however today is 9/11. Today is not the day to compare how easy the US has had it over other countries or try to one up us.

Thank you in advance for your compassion and understanding.

Blessed are all who perished on this fateful day 8 years ago. Let us pause to remember and commemorate those poor souls and their families, and let us ensure that we never forget that horrific day. Salute. :USA::USA::USA:

:(

I must say I had at last one friend of a friend there that I knew working at WTC he had just left the building before the first hit came.
I won´t forget that day and remember that because of the timedifference I sat in front of the TV and on the net thru the whole night.
I do understand everyones personal feelings and especially the general publics opinions that the government has put Osama in the backburner. Believe me they haven´t... it wasn´t long ago Al-quaida members were chased around over here too.
In this matter you just have to be cold blooded if you are involved in the operations that happened during 9/11 and thereafter, otherwise you just loose focus.
And I surely believe that as of today the U.S. secret intelligence with the global help do a fine job of reeling those truly behind it to justice.
Remember terrorism is a mutual enemy globally, the problem is that it changes constantly.

I won´t forget. You can trust me on this one.
It´s not about one upmanship or how easy you have had it before either it´s just so that not everyone in the world sees things the American way even today.
And I hate that there´s people today actually being joyful today of what happened then.

Never Forget this terrible day 8 yrs ago because there´s Nothing but sorrow in it.:USA:

Thank you Mikey, sometimes we forget we're not in this alone. My brother lives in Germany, has for 30 years. Their country also remembers 9/11 with horror.

Today is my wife's Birthday, we obviously remember the day well as far as where we were and what we were doing, and the absolute anger we felt. Hard to believe there are scum on this planet who believe killing unsuspecting women and children is the way to become revered. And that there are those who do revere them.

Can't wait until they are wiped off the face of the earth.

Real men fight other men, real warriors fight other warriors, only cowards target women and children.

RIP all, I'll never forget, never........:USA:

On 9/11 I was on the other side of the country. A firefighter, an EMT. I was at work when the first plane hit. I had gotten off work and was home when the second plane hit and it became clear what had happened. I went back to work, I wasn't scheduled, I wasn't on the clock, I simply had to be at work. There are no words to describe.

I was asked to come into Arlington, VA later that morning to start moving crucial communication circuits over to alternative office space around the corner from the Pentagon. I worked in the Pentagon for many years & coincidentally I was supposed to be at the WTC on the morning of 9/11/01 & the meeting was canceled the evening before. I guarantee I will never forget.

I also had the opportunity to be at the opening of the Pentagon 9/11 Memorial. If is DEFINITELY a MUST see. It's breathtaking.

We all feel angry and desperate because we don´t see the enemy face to face.
The Day is coming to an end here but Actually I remember the days after or actually the whole fall being horrible and surreal by witnessing pics and statements from friends and Media in NY.
Sad was that there was lot of people who stated America had it coming like you guys would´ve deserved it.
Nobody deserved it.

thanks for the tip... next time I´ll visit my friends in Staten I gotta go there too.

Phuck.. now it all comes weighing down on me again...
The emotions, the remembrance, even what I had for supper and just had to leave some of it ( couldn´t eat all of it as I started to feel sick) watching the news.
The worry If I had any I knew in the building at the time, what will this lead to and sofort.

I tried to go help my wife with her horses today just to get away from it all to no avail and yes today many has taken a long look at me while I carry my grey Yankees-T.
The people haven´t forgotten here either...never will.

I rmember where I was, what I was doing.
Never forget, never forgive. To the many who perished RIP.
To the few responsible, burn in hell.
To the rest of US and to our Gov. I’m tired and had enough with the passive mentality.
And yessss. I’m angry, with sorrow in tears.

Does not seem like 8 years ago I think we all changed that day.Mikey caught some flack over saying it but he is right we were brought into terrorism and this is something we had not experienced or expected before on that scale.
I know it sounds strange but I always wondered how many women did not get the egg sandwich or something for breakfast that morning because the were trying to lose a few pounds. You never know and we can honor those lost that day by living our lives to the fullest. If we do that they have lost.

Tim you got that right..it was also your first foreign attack on homesoil and therefore something you guys have had trouble to get to grips with.
Time will pass, things will get understandable to those who let go the bitterness but not forget and when that happens those responsible will have something to watch out for as right there and then the enemy knows Americans aren´t paralyzed anymore and can focus on bringing those responsible to justice.
And Believe me the US Central Intelligence surely does that and is not on a backburner.

Now it´s the 12th over here, the Sun is shining it´s in the low 70´s (despite being at the same level as Anchorage Alaska ) and I remember that 8 yrs ago it wasn´t so.
The Skies was pouring it´s tears, not thundering but pouring like it even was at loss and without any strength left to give.
But what doesn´t kill you strengthens you is a saying we have over here.

Never Forget.

Thank you to those relatively few people who cared enough, or were able to post here yesterday. Kind of disappointing that Clay's 9/9/09 thread about a blow job had more views.

Never forget.

I was booting around doing calls listening to The Howard Stern Show.....he could see it from his window and ended up staying on the air hours longer than usual.....he was freaking out....almost every house I went to had CNN on and were glued to the set, I ended up going back to my place and watching CNN for awhile.....finished the day with a sick feeling......I will never forget that day.....:(
