Saturday Boating...What a day!

I hear ya...busy weekend for sure. Did you do the GP? I was there both days; I have a buddy who had an RV spot. Good times.

My mom and dad were miffed that they keep moving the festival of states around so that now there's a week between the day and the night parade. Dad's lodge runs mini model T's in the parades. They say the attendance has gone down steaditly for the past 20 years.

That's funny, I remember the mini model-T's...those guys are alright.
:)

Hey Cig, was that you racing towards the Gandy Bridge from Tampa Bay Friday afternoon? I passed a sweet Cigarette on my way back to St. Pete side.

Awesome weekend of boating. Took another couple for a ride up to Salt Rock Grille from Boca Ciega Bay. Great company, great music, great weather. I am now convinced everyone between Salt Rock and Don Cesar cannot stand my boat. Music is freaking load. Can rattle windows from 200 feet off dock.

BTW, I was looking at the thread last night. Wife looks over and sees your avatar. She starts giving me crap like i'm chatting with the woman in your avatar. So do me a favor please, go full nudeon her picture. If I'm going to get yelled at, might as well show her how hot the body is.

Could have been, I was in the area at some point during the day. The louder the better! ;)

The real deals are somewhere in the Bad Boys section.

Yes I have not missed the GP since it has been in St. Pete. Funny thing...on Friday during the morning rain I was sitting on a bench outside the Mahfey Theater and Major Rick Baker walked by...I blurted out thanks to him for the efforts each year to bring the race to St. Pete. I then said now you should bring back offshore boat racing to St. Pete. Total silence, mumbled something as he was walking away.

That's funny. I asked him the same thing a couple weeks ago. He said that the investment to return ratio simply wasn't there...so then I asked him, what did it actually cost the city? The way I see it, it cost very little. The dry pits were in the Park (zero cost), spectating was at the pier (zero cost), the races are self-promoted (zero cost), all you had to supply was maybe a parking cops, and reap the benefit of thousands of people lodging, eating, drinking and fueling in our city, not to mention a few spots on tv. He didn't have much to say.

-----------

On a somewhat related note, Baked invited himself to NY with Erin's band when they played in the Macy's Thanksgiving day parade...he forced his way in and kicked some poor lady out of her spot. I told my brother-in-law about this, and as we're standing on Broadway, he shouts out "Rick Baker's an azzhole" as the parade marches by. He heard it loud and clear, because he immediately turned to the crowd looking for who said it. :D :D

Erin has a band????? Tell me more! How's the guitar by the way?If If I run into him again I will press him with the offshore race question. He probably does not want to be bothered with an event that he can not make money from....note I said he and note the local business establishments. He probably gets some kick back from ALMS and Indy.

I know Mike Allweiss could spread a lot more light on this and Major Baker.

St. Pete Sedond-Time-Arounders. I'm sure you've heard of them. They got invited to play in the Big parade in NY. Guitar's great; it's very much enjoyed.

I doubt Rick cares anymore, he's on his last year I believe.

It was good to see you the other day Nick. Your boat sounded great when you were heading out. We had a great day too. We left the dock with two motors running and came back with two motors running. Can't ask for much more than that. I'm going to the Jimmy Buffett concert Sat. but I might be throwin a few back on Friday afternoon at Fish Tales if your around.

Likewise, great seeing you; Looks like you all were having a good time. Can't beat a great day on the water like that. I'll be in the area on Fri night. We may stop in.
