That's funny. I asked him the same thing a couple weeks ago. He said that the investment to return ratio simply wasn't there...so then I asked him, what did it actually cost the city? The way I see it, it cost very little. The dry pits were in the Park (zero cost), spectating was at the pier (zero cost), the races are self-promoted (zero cost), all you had to supply was maybe a parking cops, and reap the benefit of thousands of people lodging, eating, drinking and fueling in our city, not to mention a few spots on tv. He didn't have much to say.

On a somewhat related note, Baked invited himself to NY with Erin's band when they played in the Macy's Thanksgiving day parade...he forced his way in and kicked some poor lady out of her spot. I told my brother-in-law about this, and as we're standing on Broadway, he shouts out "Rick Baker's an azzhole" as the parade marches by. He heard it loud and clear, because he immediately turned to the crowd looking for who said it.
