We simply can't "kill them all". Even contemplating the execution of millions of innocent civilians is as un-American as you get.
There's only one way to get rid of this problem- give them something they want more. Think about this- how did they get where they are? Don't hand me this bull$hit about them being raised with those beliefs. Go drag a thousand fat American teenagers away from their Nintendos and get them to hate. Won't work. No motivation.
The problem in the Middle East is purely Arab- with alot of European bumbling thrown in for good measure. First, they're ****ed that they were once not only the cradle of civilization, they were also the center of world trade and the global superpower. But they never progressed into the 20th century- they didn't have what the 20th century needed. After WW-II the place was tossed into disarray by people that lacked the foresight to see the strategic issues of the region- they were too occupied divvying up Europe.
And the rest- as they say- is history.

Depends on your definition of pollution. Except for certain very small areas the air and water quality in the US is as good or better than anywhere in the world. Our cars, trucks, factories are all clean enough, not perfect, but enough, and we are working on the toxic issues from the past. The thing you Euros don't get is we have vastly more land per person than you do, and a small amount of pollution is sustainable. Especially when to rid ourselves of any more pollution would cost either HUGE money or a drastic change in our lifestyle. SCREW that. When you can get ALL the little third world sh!tholes including Russia, China, India, and Pakistan to even agree to be as clean as us, come talk to me. Otherwise we are doing just fine as we are. And remember, CO2 is NOT a pollutant. It is a naturally occurring gas in our atmosphere that has never been proven to be a cause of any environmental issues. And paying ridiculous costs and taxes and making lifestyle changes over a rapidly falling apart THEORY is total folly.
Fake science makes us a polluter on paper.

When I´m talking about pollution I´m not thinking of your cars.... but the energy industry which was considered efficient 100 yrs ago or so.

And the very foundation of democracy garners that it is filled with many different opinions and self-serving interests that have a voice. Result: you cannot unilaterally go off on an unpopular global invasion program and expect your diverse constiuency to support you forever. Just as Bush was unpopular for taking focus off Afghanistan too early. So will Obama for something else.
We get to sit behind our desktops and blather opinions about things we have no control over and WE WILL NEVER have control over. But as long as Bush, Obama, Hillary, Romney or whomever else is wearing the Presidential jacket creates jobs, protects us and makes the economy work, they'll get re-elected.
Mark my words now (seriously, someone keep track of this): The 2010 campaign will be a bloody beating by Republicans on incumbent Democrats. But withing 45-60 days of the mid-term elections, we will see good economic numbers, job being created and the retiring of multi-hundrends of billions from the TARP which will bring down the the long term deficit projections. All of that will have people buzzing about how well the Democrats are doing and they get re-elected.
I'm just telling it like it is, not how I necessarily want it. And this is no different than any other political party manipulates things. Just think about the daily terror threats during the 2004 campaign. Any time Bush fell in the polls, they announced another possible threat and the lemmings stuck their thuymbs in their mouths and pulled the R on the machine.
So we cna talk about anything we want, but people with much more control than the average citizen alrewady knows what will happen and when it will happen. And we will continue to react like good little lemmings.

Ask me which country to move nowadays and having a FUTURE Aussie is on top of the list.

LA won't be fixed until they are all driving electric cars and the illegals stop eating re-fried beans, geography is their issue, not the amount of pollution being emitted by each individual.
Russia is not an issue for US, we'll wait till Finland is a smoking hole and then we'll kick their ass in your honor.
Once again, lots of land, not a lot of people. Millions of people are still trying to get in here, no matter what you think of us. We will weather this time and come back out on top, because deep down, most Americans still know that government is not the answer, human spirit, drive and determination are.

Ask yourself why Russians are starting to build again long range nuke missiles when we have been able to hit each others countries with Cannons for the last 100 years?
* Which was a issue they attacked us in the first place without a declaration and by a self made provocation and got their asses handed to them.
And how do you guys think you can handle attacking a bigger enemy than you protecting itself...

But Russia doesn't want anything to do with us anymore anyway. We already kicked their a$$es out of Afghanistan and Europe. And we didn't even have to shoot a single round at them. And unlike so many of our enemies they're at least smart enough to concern themselves with their own self-interest. Funny thing- it turns out that they really had no good reason to want anything in post-war Europe anyway. Nothing they didn't have at home to begin with. Had the USSR focused on their own country after the war, they'd have a seat at the big boy's table today. But instead of leveraging their own national resources, they went for that kooky, power-mad land grab. And ended up with some of the bleakest real estate on the planet. $hit, we could have sold them Newark, Detroit and Gary, Indiana cheap and we'd have both been further ahead.

Just a couple of nukes in some major cities will plunge our civilization into darkness. Darkness for everyone. The Russians have seen the armed overthrow of their government in recent history. And one "collapse" in very recent history. And Russian politicians are no different that American politicians. They want to keep their power and to do that they have to keep their jobs. They all lost their jobs the last time they lost sight of the big picture and the average Russian was going hungry. So these new guys have no intention of causing 90% of their population to freeze or starve to death by doing something as stupid as picking a fight with us.
The last big war that will ever have a winner ended in 1945. We are way too globally-dependent on each other to ever consider another one. That's what makes this terrorism thing so scary. I don't worry about Russia. I don't even worry about North Korea, as goofy as that SOB is. They still have self-interest. Iran- scares me. Religious extremism scares me. No self-interest to be found. Except martyrdom.
