Phragle's official winter upgrade thread..

When Im chillin running the stereo, I can switch to the deep cycle, then switch back over to the starting batt when Im ready to go...

Just don't forget, (like I've been known to do).

If all of your grounds are solid, and it sounds like they are. You should get home every time!

A;; mire wire is stranded so it should be solid.

Got one side panel inm courtesy lights wired and speakers installed. Will do the other side saturday and finish up some odds and ends in the bilge. getting a lot closer....

I mean solid as in well grounded. Grounds in boats always seem to be the number one area of issues and he has his buss blocks separately grounded back to the battery grounds. Stranded wire is always best.

Threw power to the system today, nothing smoked!! chartplotter works, courtesy lights work, bilge pump, bilge lights, elec.compass, blower all check and the stereo . Water test 2 weeks.

Busy day today... Got the console mounted, throttle/****er mounted, last to cup holders wired and mounted, couple step plates mounted, head up trim indicators mounted under the dash, neutral safety switch wired up, sent the seat bases out to be modified ( upon drilling the access port to thru bolt the seat I found that the inside bolt holes would be to close to the stringers, so I am having a 3" strip of stainless welded in to move the mounting holes), fabbed the cable mounts for the tab cylinders and whipped up some stainless brackets to mount the cable ends to the tabs. Also ordered a shift cable adjustment tool and my 5 watt handheld vhf showed up today.

Got my butt kicked by a 1/4 hole today. Fabbed up the tab mounts for the mech., indicators. First 3 holes in the stainless tabs took 45 minutes, the last hole took me 3 hours. gonna get the correct size bolts etc saturday.

Not unless I can find a 5/8- 20 nut. Somewhere along the rebuild and shop move I lost the nut for the steering wheel. Tried menards, home depot and lowes, any ideas??

Yeah, that's a pretty fine thread for 5/8.
Fleeger's would have probably had one. But they went out of business. :(

Maybe Ondrus, but they are closed Sundays.

This is when I miss real hardware stores.

See if you can find a tap at one of the hardware stores or sears or ?, and if so, buy a bit smaller nut, ream and tap it.
