On this lap, Smitty and Louie were closing back in on Octane. Smitty said after they would have had them but threw a prop blade. I'm not sure that Jim and Tyler bought that though. Up into and out the other side along Canada.

Pirate had a small problem. They were slowing down, bit by bit.

Uh-Oh, they were sinking!!!!!!

High pressure hose coming off the water pump split. We were taking on water in the first lap. Boat got slower and slower. When we pulled out we had water up to the headers, on board pumps could not keep up with the inflow of water. As we say "that’s racing", we will be in the mix next race. Congrats from the Pirates to Octane, Typhoon, and Tug It.

So I guess Travis punished you for not wanting to stop by makin you pump out the bilge!! I love it. I don't think I'd get my old man down there.. That really does suck guys. You all had a great run goin (easy to see as far back as we were runnin!) for the last few races, hate to see that. Had a great time runnin around and havin cocktails with ya the last few weeks! Hope you guys all got home safe.

Pirates returned home safe but our run of bad luck continued on the way home. Rear disk brake on the trailer locked, sheared all the lug nuts. Tire and wheel landed who knows where. The trailer dropped and sheared the U-bolts on the axle. When that happened the axle came loose from the trailer. Won’t go any further but I will say cocktails continued at that point. We are looking forward to the next race; we plan on changing the order of finish.
